Happy Thursday! Where is the week going?

I LOVE LUCY!
I'm a big Lucy fan, so for Christmas Russell bought me a Lucy t-shirt (with a photo from the episode of Lucy in the grape smashing scene in Italy) and the complete TV series on DVD! And Russell also gave me a Lucy stamp! HOLEY MOLEY! I made the above card with a stamp! It's not a photo, but it sure looks like one, hey?

Hi Gang!

Well, I've finally figured out how to put 'buttons' on my blog that will take you to fun places on the web - mainly my Stampin' Up! website and SU videos! LOL Yeesh, there's a LOT to learn with this blogging stuff. Again, please bear with me as I figure all of this stuff out - I guarantee there's going to be a lot of changes. I'm determined to master the blog world!

Last night we had our scrapbook & stamping evening at the Greenwich Rec Hall. It was a lot of fun...but isn't it always, when girls get together? I made some cards for Easter, as I'll have to get them mailed soon so that they arrive in time for our families. I must say, I am getting burried under scrap paper, so my challenge has been to ONLY use my scrap basket for card making! Unless I need a card base, I'm not even cutting into my card stock. I've also been taking my scrap paper and running it through my Big Shot & also using my punches - and then I put all the little die cuts and punches in cellophane bags for quick projects. It's turning out to be a great way to purge through the scrapbasket and ultilmately save me time when I need to make a quick card. What do you do with your scraps? Leave a comment to share!

Now that I have this blog, I can start posting the gazillion photos I have on my computer for you! I've had so many fun events and classes and many of you have not seen photos from these yet (like our Christmas Cookie Exchange and Hostess Appreciation Dinners). So stand by for that. In the meantime, I'll add a few photos for you today.

I love this stamp set...it came out a couple of years ago and is called " Polar Pals".. see how those DAZZLING DIAMONDS just make the card? Love them.

I cased this card on SCS last year. So fun & easy and mega quick! Wouldn't this be a great card template for other stamp sets? Maybe for Easter change the colors to pastels and stamp Easter bunnies and chocolate Easter eggs!

***NOTE: Just so you know, Mr. Lewis, our cat, just has to lay on my desk, in between my arms, while I try to type on the keyboard. Not easy.
So spelling errors are blamed on said cat. *wink*

Lewis

Since I posted a photo of Lewis, it was only right that I post Jake's mug too. This is one of my very favorite photos of Jake, taken while I lived back home in BC, during one of our runs.

Love the Big Shot. I used some old blue jeans and scraps for this card. It's one of my favs. Another super way to use up scrap paper...

Big shot again (of course). Metal mesh and leather! I stamped the truck with my black craft ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.

I made this card last year, for my friend, Hedi. The technique is here. You'll notice that my card cases the card Beate used in her tutorial. Lots of time I'll case a card (CASE = copy and share everything) though sometimes I'll use different stamps and my cards always come out a bit different than the original card that I've cased. I also use my Stampin' Up! catalogue a lot, to copy the card samples. Having said this though, I still just make up cards as I go along - and it's always surprising (pleasantly so) to see the final result!

Here's a 'spinner' card that I made for Russell's best friend, Mike, as a thank you for selling Russell's truck. Of course, we had to leave Russell's truck in England so it was great that Mike could help out with us here and the truck over there. (For those of you that don't know, my hubby, Russell, is from England and we had to sell and/or leave some things in the UK when Russell moved here). Anywho, the many thanks circle spins when you tilt the card from side to side. This is a really fun card to make...two penny's are used for the 'mechanics' of this card.

One of my all time favorite cards. "Classic Trucks" from SU, now retired, is still one of my most used stamp sets. I also used "Lovely as a Tree" stamp set.

HAPPY STAMPING!
