Happy Thursday!

Hi Everyone! Happy Thursday! The weekend is almost here! YAY! Time to stamp!!! It's been a few days since I've last posted - it's been busy for me. But FUN too! I've held a couple of stamp clubs (which I LOVE) and another is tomorrow night. I'm demonstrating the "Split-Negative" technique this month - it's so cool! I'll post photos soon. If you'd ever like to attend one of our monthly stamp clubs (with no obligation to buy) - you just want to see what it's all about (and how much FUN it is!) - then be sure to let me know! You'd be most welcome!

I also had a special 'Serene Stampers' meeting on the 7th with some of my team members. We focused solely on the upcoming Sale-a-bration promotion!! We're all quite excited about it! For those of you that don't know, SAB is Stampin' Up!'s biggest promotion held each year! Details will be forthcoming - along with very special classes and events which I'll tell you about as we get a bit closer to the date (mark January 25th on your calendars!). If you've been thinking about hosting a workshop, NOW is the time, that's for sure! Contact me at serenestamper@yahoo.ca.

I recently put together a hostess kit for Sara, who is having a workshop this month, and as always, I add a card sample for the hostess to show her guests (and which she also gets to keep). For Sara's kit I simply cased the card shown on the front of the Guest Invitation Postcard! It uses the 'Love You Much' stamp set, which is soooo much fun to play with! The birds were stamped once, on the card, then again on some scrap DSP (designer series paper). This was cut and glued onto the original image; this is called 'Paper Piecing' and it's one of my favorite things to do!

(note the 'Stamp-a-ma-jig'...a tool I just couldn't live without!)

As you'll see in the photo/postcard below, I just swapped the colors and added my own tweaks (or should I say 'tweets'!?) to the card.

At all my team meetings, we always have 'show and tell' and share cards with one another. Our meeting last week (with some lovely new team members!) was no exception! Check out all the fun new stamps and product on these cards:

Kim brought these cards and completely sold ALL of us on this 'Lots of Love' letterpress, from the Occasions Mini.

The above card is a real 'WOW' card, which Kim cased from the super-talented Dawn Griffith (Stampin' Up! demonstrator in the USA)

Danielle, a new demo, is in LOVE with My Digital Studio! She is getting married in April and she created all of her beautiful wedding invitations using MDS! She really blew our socks off! If you've never seen MDS in action, it will be featured at my 'Technique Tuesday Class', January 18th. Contact me if you'd like to attend! More details can be found under my Calendar of Events on my website, here.

Another event I held recently was a 'Meet & Greet', for all of the demonstrators that recently signed up. We had a GREAT time together! If you missed it, don't worry! I'll be holding another one - dates TBD. For the lovely ladies that attended my 'Meet & Greet', I made some really yummy muffins....when I went into the kitchen to get them, this is scene I stumbled upon:

*GASP!* "Lewis! Get OFF the table!!"

Oh. My. Word. Of course, being the scrapbooker that I am, I just HAD to snap some photos before I removed his furry little butt from the table. Do you know why he's in such a state of bliss???

...because of the wood stove. Need I say more? Cats. And dogs. They've got the life, lemme tell ya.

Ok. On to the muffins. Everyone raved about them and they are sooooo easy - and nutritious!! These are made with pumpkin, and the recipe can be found here. I changed a few things to make it healthier (applesauce for some of the oil, 3 eggs instead of 4) and added dried cranberries and pecans. I also drizzled the tops with white and dark chocolate, sprinkled with some icing sugar. If you've not already noticed, I love to cook as much as I love to stamp! At the top of the page you'll see a tab marked 'recipes'. This is where I frequently post some of my favorite recipes to share with you, as I'm sure you'll enjoy!

Here are some of the newest members of my 'Serene Stampers' downline group, along with my dear friend Cathy, who's been a demo on my team for a year now. Along with questions and answers, a short video from Stampin' Up! convention (showing Diana Gibbs watercoloring techniques), we also had a make and take project:

The DSP is retired from last year, the heart stamp is from the Hostess Level One stamp set "Punch Potpourri".

Everyone loved their cards and we all had such a wonderful evening together! I also made a little gift for each of the new 'Serene Stampers' that attended my Meet & Greet event - it was a little notepad that I just LOVED making! So much so, that I am going to post a tutorial with photos tomorrow for you so that you can make one too! You'll love it!

My friend, Bernice, is a new stamper - AND a new demonstrator! Bernice came over yesterday for some tips on card making. I showed her how to CASE (copy and share everything) cards from online sources, magazines, etc. The card below is a direct case we found online!

The original card was made by Kathy Bradley and can be seen here, on the fabulous SPLITCOASTSTAMPERS (SCS) website. Bernice did a WONDERFUL job and this card took no time at all to make!

Here's another card that Bernice made. I showed her how to create the paper flower and they are just too cute in real life! Simply punch out 5 scallop circles, stack on top of one another, punch centre and insert brad, then crumple each piece. Add button or embellishment of your choice. Love it! However, Bernice did NOT love the Early Espresso card base, so we gently took off the focal point, and added it a blue base! Look at the difference!:

Remember, stamping doesn't have to take a ton of time and you'll have great results with even the simplest of cards. Here's one of my favorite quick & easy one-layer cards, using the Fun & Fast Notes stamp set that comes in the Starter Kits:
