Thumping Technique

Hi Friends - Happy Wednesday to you! We're in the middle of a big ole snowstorm right now, complete with high winds and white out conditions. Thank goodness I work from home. If there's ever a day one needs motivation to make their home based business a success, this is that day!  I am so grateful that I don't have to commute back and forth to work in this weather. As it is, I highly doubt we'd be able to get down our driveway, much less the road to the highway.  I think I've only ventured out of the house and into town maybe three times in the last month. No joke. But the groceries are beginning to dwindle so I'm hoping the plow truck comes by soon so that we can go out tomorrow and stock up on a few items (like butter, milk and eggs...maybe we outta get ourselves a cow and some chickens...LOL).

As much as I love the East Coast of Canada, I must admit that I get homesick and miss the early spring season back home on Vancouver Island. My friends and family have been sharing photos on facebook of all the blossoms, daffodils, and crocuses popping up. One friend even mentioned that she may have to cut her lawn soon. *insert BIG sigh here*  Well, I'll remember them in the Autumn, as they experience the dark, dreary rainy days, and while we enjoy the glorious warmth and stunning foliage that lasts long into October.  Hee hee.

Today's card is a quick one. The technique is easy - it's called "Thumping" and it's an oldie but goodie. You simply ink your stamp in one colour and then 'thump' on a second colour using the bold tip of a marker and what you'll end up with is this pretty effect:

This a fabulous technique to use on stamp sets like "Lovely as a Tree" too - so give it a whirl with your stamps and markers and have some fun!
