Yay You, Myths & Magic Card

In my "Serene Stampers" group we have a monthly "Creative Challenge", in which I send out packets with supplies to create a card using 'surprise' Stampin' Up! products to each member who wants to 'play'. Then we all upload photos of our cards to our Facebook group and it's great because we end up with so much inspiration, all using the same products! It's a lot of fun and my "Serene Stampers" always come up with beautiful cards each month.

The featured products I chose for January's "Creative Challenge" is from the new "Myths and Magic Suite" & participants received Designer Series Paper, Glimmer Paper and Washi Tape along with card stock and ribbon. I decided to play along too, and this is the card I came up with:

My honey came in as I was typing this blog post and I showed him this card, stating I probably should have used the green glimmer paper, instead of blue, for the "grass". He promptly agreed (darn it!). So I switched to a strip of green glimmer paper...

Which do you prefer? The strip of blue or the green glimmer paper?
(I think I'm leaning towards to blue again LOL)

I also added three rows of the mini Silver Sequins, which I think works great with the pattern of the paper. This card was definitely a challenge for me, as it's not my usual 'style' but I must say, the products in the "Myths & Magic" suite are awesome!

The sentiment "You've Got This" is from the new "Yay You" host reward stamp set from the 2018 Occasions catalogue (yet another great stamp set you can earn for FREE!).

Word on the street is that we're supposed to be getting walloped with a our first big snowstorm today - up to 25cm of the white stuff (or more). And perhaps hurricane strength winds too. Wowsa.  However, 'word on the street' isn't always right, so I'm hoping it'll just be a breezy, balmy and misty kinda day. I'll get back to you tomorrow and let you know how we make out. In case we do get the 'big winter storm of the year' we're ready for it - tons of wood stacked inside for the stove, gas in the generator and a fridge stocked full of food. Oh, and a craft studio full of new products to play with from the 2018 Occasions and Sale-a-bration! All I'll need is a cup of hot chocolate and I'll be set! Life. Is. Good.

Enjoy the day and HAPPY STAMPING!
