Valentine Paper Pumpkin Kit

Valentine's Day is right around the corner and last month's Paper Pumpkin kit was filled with goodies to make some sweet cards for those we love. There's something about making Valentine cards that is very nostalgic and old fashioned. I remember having some friends over to my house a few years ago and we all made Valentine's cards; we used lace and ribbons, buttons and other fun embellishments on our stamped pieces. Of course, there were yummy treats to nibble on while we crafted together. We had so much fun and this is such a good memory for me. Since I've moved to another province we're too far away to get together but you can bet that each one of those special friends will be receiving one of these Valentine cards this year:

Here's a look at the January 2018 Paper Pumpkin kit:

These kits are so much fun to receive because you never know what you're going to get for a project and I love being able to put something together that I haven't had to pre-cut first. Everything is done and ready to be stamped and assembled - a treat for customers and demonstrators alike!

Here's my spin on the Valentine cards - which have already been mailed out to some special loved ones!

I thoroughly enjoyed making these cards! First, I ran the white layer through the Big Shot with one of the Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing Folders. Then I stamped the Sheet Music Background Stamp onto white fun foam with Basic Black Ink (and zapped it on low with my heat tool to make sure the ink dried). I used Versamark and a stamp from the retired "Gorgeous Grunge" set (still one of my very favourite stamp sets) to add a splatter over the foam, which I embossed in gold. A heart from the Sweet & Sassy Framelits was used to cut it out. I think the rest of the card is self explanatory. I also added a bit of lace ribbon and glitter because I don't think a Valentine is a Valentine without those two things! LOL

My crafting supplies are almost 100% all Stampin' Up! products but I do have some that aren't, such as the stamp set I used on the back of the Valentine. I have no idea the name or the company for this set, I've had it for years. The XOXO is part of the stamp set that came with the Paper Pumpkin kit.

When you receive your Paper Pumpkin kits you can assemble them exactly as designed or tweak and alter the projects like I did with the January kit. Here's a supply list of products I used on my Valentine cards:
