Black Ice Technique with Video

My friend, Michele Duplisea, who is also a demonstrator in my "Serene Stampers" group recently sent me a gorgeous sympathy card (my grandfather passed away earlier this month). The technique that Michele had used was one I'd not seen before and when I asked her about it she told me it was called "Black Ice". Here's the card that Michele made for me:

Isn't Michele's card gorgeous? I looked up the technique online and decided to give it a spin with my own touch! Here are the cards I created with the Black Ice Technique (I think this may also be the same or at least similar to the Distressed Metal Technique):

I used the "Country Livin" stamp set for the truck, "Bookcase Builders" for the sentiment and "Timeless Textures" for the background on the Emerald Envy card base.

Gold Foil card stock was used for this card.

For this card I used Silver Foil card stock with the "Beautiful You" and "Sheltering Tree" stamp sets. The "Burlap" background stamp is stamped on the Very Vanilla card stock layer with Smoky Slate ink. The "Thinking of You" sentiment is from the "Apron of Love" stamp set.

I added Sweet Sugarplum ink to the dress and Dapper Denim ink to the umbrella with my blender pen, prior to adding the Versamark and Clear Emboss Powder.

This is the card I made in the video. I used "Mediterranean Moments" along with the "Coffee Cafe Bundle". I love combining all our different stamp sets and accessories together!
