Pop of Petals Detailed With Love Card Tutorial

Hi Friends! Well, I have to tell you - weather (in Canada) is weird. Last week, the tail end of June, I had to light the wood stove because of the cold, damp weather. This past weekend and right through the week we are in the high 30's - soooo HOT! It's as if Mother Nature flicked a switch and said: "Ok, East Coast of Canada - you can have summer now." I am a warm weather girl and as much as I love the beauty of snow in winter, the cold makes me grumble. So despite the HOT temperatures, I shan't complain. I did learn today though that planting veg in the garden with the 34' sun isn't a good idea. I suddenly felt quite ill and it occurred to me that (a) I should have a hat on and (b) I need to plant earlier in the morning. So I had a cold shower and skid-daddled down to my stamp studio, which by the way, is really cool. I often wear a sweater in my studio, even in the summer. Except today. LOL

So let's get onto today's cards, which is very summery! I used the new "Pop of Petals" bundle as well as the new "Detailed With Love" stamp set. Super easy card to make. Markers direct to the stamps is one of my favourite things to do, and I just pulled in the colours with my blender pens.

  • Bermuda Bay – 11” x 4 ¼”
  • Whisper White – 4” x 5 ¼” plus scrap piece for butterfly

  1. Fold Bermuda Bay cardstock in half to create card base.
  2. From the “Pop of Petals” stamp set, ink the three-flower image with Calypso Coral, Mango Medley and Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Right Markers and stamp onto bottom corner of 4” x 5 ¼” Whisper White card stock. Re-ink and stamp again, adding as many flowers as desired. Repeat process on top corner of Whisper White layer. Add leaves with Old Olive & Granny Apple Green markers. For purple flowers, ink stem with Mossy Meadow and flowers with Gorgeous Grape markers. Use Blender Pen to pull colour into flowers and leaves.
  3. Ink butterfly image from Pop of Petals set with Bermuda Bay marker on the body and Basic Black on the antennas; stamp onto card front. Re-ink and stamp a second butterfly onto a scrap piece of Whisper White. Colour both butterflies with same markers used on flowers and punch out second butterfly with Four-Petal Flower Punch. Adhere onto card front with liquid glue. Fold up wings.
  4. Draw lines around the card with Bermuda Bay marker.
  5. Stamp sentiment from “Detailed with Love” stamp set using Black Stazon ink pad.
  6. Add Dazzling Diamonds glitter with Fine Tip Glue to flowers and butterfly.
  7. Stamp inside of card as desired.

  1. Indeed it is hot. Here in southern Ontario, with the humidity it is 104 degrees outside. I went to the beach on Saturday and could only put up with two hours. Luckily I did have a hat on.

This is such a pretty card. So fully stamped and just lovely.

    Stay cool.

  2. Wow, Beth, that is super HOT! I'm taking my hounds to the beach for swim today but will wait until this evening when it's a bit cooler.
