All Occasion Card Class with Foxy Friends

Hi Friends! On the third Tuesday of every month I hold my All Occasion Card class at a local centre near my home. This class has been soooo much FUN because I've been meeting wonderful ladies AND they've never stamped before! Do you remember what it was like when you were first introduced to rubber stamping? It is so thrilling for me to hear the 'ohhhhs and ahhhss" as these gals see all the fun things I show them when making our cards. It's also been a reminder to me that simple cards can be just as lovely as a card with all the layers, bells and whistles. Stamps, inks and paper are my main focus in this class, along with a few embellishments and techniques. This is the perfect class for those who have never stamped before, or are still new to the hobby, as well as advanced stampers who just want to relax and make quick and easy cards.

Last night I featured the Foxy Friends stamp set, as I had a request to make some kids cards. So here's the first card we made - and everyone loved it:

Such as easy-peasy card, but how cute right? The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the "Window Shopping" stamp set - I didn't even realize it had retired until now! Yeesh - how did I miss that?! Of course, any stamp would work on this card, depending on what occasion you needed it for.

This is the second card we made. I decided it was time to introduce the "Big Shot" as most of the gals at last night's class had stamped with me a few times now - I was going to up the ante and show them how to use embossing folders. I told them they were about to discover some 'magic' and lemme tell ya, when the ladies ran their card stock through the Big Shot with the embossing folder they were pretty darn excited! Isn't it amazing how those folders just transform the paper?! Sometimes those of us who have been stamping a long time take it for granted. But for those who've never used a Big Shot before, it's a big deal! I teased that I should be sprinkling Dazzling Diamonds from the air as they embossed their cards because they all agreed it was indeed a magical thing! (This is why I love sharing stamping and teaching others - it is soooo awesome!).

The embossing folder is called "Swirls & Curls" and it'll be out in the new Holiday Catalogue - it's one of my favourites! The ladies were also amazed at how you could use a marker on stamp - for the heart in the kitties paws - and omit the rest of the image on the same stamp. See, simple can be amazing, my friends, especially when it's new to others! I pre-cut the Whisper White circles before the class, using the Stitched Shapes Dies and I also use the Apron Builder Dies to cut out the hearts before the class. I like to have everything like that done ahead of time for my classes, so that everyone can simply stamp and assemble their cards quickly and easily.

In my All Occasion Card class we make six cards, two each of three designs. I loved the third card from last night's class so much that I decided I'll make a quick little video for it, which I'll post here tomorrow for you. It's a Christmas card, also using Foxy Friends and it is beyond CUTE! I love that I still get excited over stamping after so many years of making of cards.....
