Hearts Come Home Christmas Card

Hi Friends! This past weekend I held one of my Christmas card classes and the featured stamp set this month was "Hearts Come Home". I know this set actually came out last year, but I'm so glad it (and the coordinating Hometown Greeting dies) was carried over into the annual catalogue. Also, none of my class attendees had this stamp set so they really enjoyed making these cards:

I had so much fun designing cards with the "Hearts Come Home" set, I created an extra card, not part of the class, but just for some extra inspiration. I love how it turned out:

I absolutely adore the new "All is Bright" Designer Series Paper that I used on this card - aren't the colours just gorgeous? This paper will be available next month (Sept 5) when the new Holiday Catalogue begins. If you would like a copy of the catalogue, you live in Canada and don't already have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, simply email me at serenestamper@gmail.com - I'll happily pop one in the mail for you!

To make this card:
  1. Cut Cherry Cobbler card stock to measure 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and fold in half to create card base.
  2. Glue 4" x 5 1/4" All is Bright DSP layer to front of card.
  3. Cut Whisper White 4" x 2 3/4". Stamp images from "Hearts Come Home" using Cherry Cobbler (two houses), Crumb Cake (middle house), So Saffron (moon) and Black Memento ink (Santa & Sleigh). Shaded Spruce and Early Espresso markers were used on the trees. Glue a 4" x 1/2" strip of DSP on the back of bottom Whisper White. Adhere to front of card.
  4. Use Leaf Punch to cut two leaves from Shaded Spruce card stock. Crumple and then unfold (to add some dimension) and use glue dots to add to card. Add White Bakers Twine bow and three Red Rhinestones to finish the card.

What a gorgeous set of cards Tina. It was actually on my list to buy at my next stamp class but then the Christmas cattie came out. Sigh. I have two sets with two coordinating dies I'm going to buy. Like you, I'm happy it got carried over into the new annual cattie.
