Private Class Workshop Cards

This past Sunday I introduced stamping to seven wonderful women who attended a private class/workshop. Jamie was my wonderful hostess. Everyone had a fabulous time (as did I) and it was so much FUN to watch new people discover the joys of stamping for the very first time!

I wanted to keep the cards easy and ones that just used ink, stamps and paper. Of course, I had to show them heat embossing on at least one of the cards - that is always such a big WOW!
The ladies had such a great time that they decided to start their own monthly stamp club! I am super excited - I know we're going to have good times together as I share more stamping techniques and projects with them. Here are the cards we made:

Our first card used the new "Happiness Surrounds" stamp set and Rich Razzleberry ink. This stamp set is so versatile, I love it! We added some pearls and rhinestones for a touch of bling to finish the card.

Card #2 was stamped with Night of Navy ink and the new "Snow is Glistening" stamp set. The colour coordination of our inks and papers is key and makes a simple card stunning! A little layering and some Dazzling Diamonds makes this card sparkly and so purrrtttyyy! (You know me and my glitter....must share it with others - life changing stuff!)

Card #3 featured the "This Little Piggy" set and our new "Buffalo Check" stamp. I showed the ladies how to add colour using ink pads and blender pens (green card) and aqua painters (pink card).

I also demonstrated how you can omit parts of a stamp, in this case the "Hogs & Kisses", and use  different sentiments from other stamp sets. This is a great way to get extra mileage from our stamps and to use them for any occasion!

Our last card was one that I cased directly from the annual catalogue, using "Stylish Christmas". Easy peasy, with just Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive ink pad. Then we added the swirls with Versamark and embossed in gold. It would just be wrong NOT to show heat embossing to new stampers, don't you think? LOL It was one of the first things I was shown when introduced to stamping and I think my jaw hit the floor. That was over 30 years ago (holey geez!) but you know what? Heat embossing STILL wows me!
