Waterfront Gift Card Holder

Hi Friends! I hope you had a nice weekend! Yesterday I made a birthday card for a family friend, with a gift card holder inside. It was so much fun to make because I used the "Waterfront" stamp set, which is one of my all time VERY favourite stamp sets!

This set is so versatile and it's absolutely incredible the amount of designs you can create with it.

I also used the "High Tide" stamp set, another one of my all time favourites, for the birds, grass and the waterlines (which I blended into the water, using the aqua painter). I used a 1 1/4" circle punch to create a mask for the sun and rolled a sponge brayer over top with Crushed Curry and a bit of Pumpkin Pie ink. For the trees I used my makers. The little cabin was first inked with crumb cake, then I 'kissed' the Hardwood background stamp (which I had inked with Early Espresso) and then I added some Real Red marker for the 'roof'. This is a great way to make it look like a 'log' cabin!

This gift card holder is so easy to make! The tutorial for this is in this month's "Passport Pals" tutorials that Frenchie and I created, with six gift card holder projects!

You can never go wrong with a gift card from Canadian Tire! For those of you who don't live in Canada, this store has everything under the sun! The recipient of this gift loves to fish, so we thought he could pick out lures and tackle or whatever he needs and/or wants.

I also whipped up a batch of Chocolate Chip cookie to go with the gift card, with a matching tag of course! If you need a yummy Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe, give these a try - they're delicious!
