"Always By Your Side" Card Tutorial

Hi Friends! I hope you had a nice weekend! The card that I'm sharing with you today is my contribution to this month's Leader's Project Sheet Group. To create my background, I used our Pigment Sprinkles, a decorative mask, embossed in clear and then inked the entire piece in black. This is very close to the "Joseph's Coat Technique". I was quite pleased with the end result and I'm looking forward to playing with this technique (and the powders) a bit more. I finished the card with a big heart and sentiment.

  • Basic Black Card Stock: 5 ½” x 8 ½”
  • Whisper White Card Stock: 6 ¼” x 6 ¼” , 4” x 4”
  1. Sprinkle Pigment Powders onto 6 ¼” x 6 ¼” Whisper White. Fill Stampin' Spritzer with water and mist entire piece of card stock. Set with heat tool to dry.
  2. Once card stock is dry, rub embossing buddy over top. Position decorative mask over card stock and tap versamark ink pad over entire mask. Remove mask and sprinkle card stock with Clear Embossing powder. Shake and excess and set with heat too. Swipe Memento ink pad over embossed card stock; wipe excess ink off the embossed resist mask design.
  3. Cut 2” x 5 ½” piece from inked card stock and glue to front of card. Cut large heart from Stitched Be Mine dies from remaining inked card stock. Cut another heart from 4” x 4” piece of Whisper White card stock. Layer pieces together using Stampin' Dimensionals onto front of card.
  4. Stamp sentiment from “Playful Penguins” set using Gorgeous Grape ink pad. Trim to size and adhere to the heart.
  5. Mist card with Champagne Shimmer Mist Paint (mixed in Stampin' Spritzer with rubbing alcohol).
  6. Add ribbon bow and rhinestones to heart to finish.
