Hi Friends! I sure hope you’re not tired of all my “Butterfly Gala” cards because I keep gravitating back to it over and over! Today I wanted to make some simple cards to keep handy, yet I also wanted to make something quick and simple. I was quite pleased with the first card, especially the colouring effect of the butterfly wings, which is just markers on the stamps spritzed lightly with water:
The second card design features the “Botanical Butterfly” Designer Series Paper, rather than using the “Butterfly Gala” stamp set:
A touch of Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to the butterfly’s wings and body is perfect for these cards!
Whilst filming, it occurred to me that these cards would also make great thank you cards for my customers this month – so I made another ten, all in less than half an hour!
I should mention, I had extra card bases left over from classes so I just used what I had, thus saving scoring and cutting time. I also had the Whisper White card stock pieces, also cut from previous events and projects. So not only are these cards fast to make but they are also a great way to use up supplies.
The gorgeous “Botanical Butterfly” Designer Series Paper is also the star of the show, with the butterflies just needing to be cut with the coordinating punch. Add a sentiment and you’re set!
A couple of the card bases didn’t match the colours of the butterflies, so I used coordinating markers in the sentiments to tie everything together. The colours for the sentiment on the above card are Melon Mambo, Balmy Blue and Highland Heather.
