I am so pleased with my new blog design, created by the amazing and talented Amy Celona, at WebsbyAmy.com I have also received LOTS of positive feedback from many of YOU, my sweet followers (thanks so much). There are a couple of changes I want to let you know about and I also want to follow up on some of your personal messages and emails, with regards to blog post notifications and my recipe page.
First, I’ll chat about my recipe page. I am thrilled that so many of you have been enjoying my recipes! I really had no idea…UNTIL my recipes were gone when I transitioned to my new blog and I began receiving emails about it! LOL
So here’s the scoop: I’ve been toying with the idea of creating another blog and YouTube channel for a LONG time (we’re talking at least a couple of years), which would have nothing to do with Stampin’ Up! It would be about my other passions (yes, there is more to me than stamping…shocking, I know!).
Those passions are cooking and travelling. Prior to moving to the East Coast and becoming a full-time SU demo, my entire career was spent in the Tourism & Hospitality industry. Actually, I did work a few years for Global TV, which I loved, but I digress….my heart has always been in the tourism/hospitality sector and being of service to others.
My dream is (and has been for as long as I can remember) to have a B&B and retreat business. It came REALLY close to reality about 8 years ago; moved to Nova Scotia, bought a beautiful century-old country homestead with 18-acres (and blueberry fields), a separate studio on the property and an ideal set up for my glamping retreat. I could combine my passion for tourism, hospitality and creativity all in one swoop! However, life threw me a tough curveball, as it sometimes does (a broken heart & ultimately a divorce), and plans changed. I eventually sold my sweet home and put my dreams ‘upon the shelf’ – but they will happen. I have trust and faith in the “Man Upstairs” and I know everything works out for the best!
While the B&B business has to wait a bit longer, I’ve decided that I am going to go ahead and create a second website this coming Spring (with the help of Amy) AND a second YouTube channel to go alongside it. I will share recipes (which will be printable), my travels (when they can happen again), some DIY and gift projects, and whatever else makes my heart happy and brings joy to my world. Hopefully, it will bring joy & happiness to others as well! So what do you think? Something you may be interested in? I’m quite excited about it. Oh – and for those of you who have been missing my recipes, I’ve got them back up on my blog for you until I move them all over to my new website later this year. BTW – I’ve actually ‘dipped my toes in the water’ so to speak, with a few cooking/travel videos in the last couple of years, which you can check out below:
- Green Tomato Marmalade & Buttermilk Biscuits
- Quick & Easy French Dip with Oven Fries
- Delicious Overnight Bread
- My Trip from Nova Scotia to Vancouver Island
Ok – next….blog post notifications. Or, lack thereof. Prior to moving my old site to this new WordPress platform, I also didn’t realize that so many of you were following me on the old blogger site. Blogger has an RRS feed that notifies subscribers when a new post is up. WordPress doesn’t have this. I spoke about it with Amy yesterday, trying to figure out ways we can set something up on my new website for those of you missing the blog notifications. Unfortunately, we don’t have many options to add an RRS feed to WordPress. However, if you subscribe to my mailing list, you’ll receive my newsletters which also list all of my latest blog posts! To sign up, click on the button below (I also share free tutorials exclusive only to my newsletter subscribers!).
Other than that, the best I can suggest is to simply bookmark my website The Serene Stamper and be sure to come to visit me! Speaking of visits, here’s the last change I want to let you know about…
…for years I’ve been quite consistent with blogging Monday to Friday (with the odd day off or an extra weekend post). Starting next week, I am going to share posts on my blog on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The reason for this is to free up some of my time (blog posts are surprisingly time-consuming) in order to create more projects to share with everyone (ie: tutorials, classes, Mystery Stamping Hour, etc) and more time to work on videos for my youtube channel. Speaking of videos, I am working on a new one for you now, which will be uploaded to my YouTube channel & posted here on my blog later this weekend.
That’s it, friends! I think you’re all up to date with news about my blog! Please let me know if you have any questions!
Enjoy the day, stay well & HAPPY STAMPING!

Tina, I have been following you for card ideas, but loving the recipes and travel. Good luck with your new blog, but keep making those beautiful cards.

Hi Charlene. Thank you for your comment and kind words! No worries about me ever stopping making cards. I’ve been stamping since I was 15 and I’m 50 now, so it’s clearly a hobby I love and it’s a big part of my life. xoxo
