A HOT Friday and “Mountain Air” Card

June 19, 2020 1 Comment

Hi Friends! HAPPY FRIDAY! I had meant to get this post on my blog HOURS ago, but it’s been a crazy, busy day! And boy, is it ever HOT! It’s 38′ (that’s about 100′ Fahrenheit) and it NEVER gets THAT hot here! Yesterday was the same and tomorrow it’s predicted to be just as hot as today. Holey Moley. Hard to believe we had FROST last week. Mother Nature is going through a weird phase, that’s for darn sure. So I was out watering my garden and flower beds by 7am and then I started to cut the lawn by 8.

We have a couple of acres so I knew I needed to get the grass cut early. I actually LOVE cutting the grass – with the ride-on mower, of course. I find it super relaxing. My guy said he’d do it tonight, but I insisted I wanted to do it! LOL By the time I got the lawn finished it was just before 10am and temps were already at 35′. I scooted inside, made some breaky (WW banana pancakes with Greek yoghurt and strawberries – so good!), had a cold shower and got to work with my Stampin’ Up! business. I had a whack of cards I wanted to get out in the mail, so they were a priority – customer thank you cards, welcome cards to new team members and birthday cards to some of my “Serene Stampers”. In between making those cards, I had some business-related phone calls, got a load of laundry washed and on the line, scooted to the post office and then into town for some errands and already it’s 5pm. That has been my day in a nutshell. Now my gazebo and a tall glass of cold iced tea are callin’ me – after I take my dogs to the river for a quick swim…

Cooper just wants to play ball, while Rosey stays in the shade!

Before I toddle off, I thought I’d share with you the card I made for my dad for Father’s Day:

I used the “Mountain Air” set with a bit of masking with my inks and sponge daubers;  simple, but I loved how it turned out. The masking technique is just so magical, don’t you think?

I have really been using my Paper Pumpkin stamp sets a LOT, which is what the sentiments on my Dad’s card are from.

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
