Awesome Embossing Folder Technique and New Cases for our Stamp Sets!

April 12, 2013 Leave a Comment

Hello and HAPPY FRIDAY!  I am pretty excited to share today’s technique with you.  It’s one I’ve seen for awhile but I personally hadn’t tried it myself.  I decided it was time and am I ever glad I did!  This technique features Stampin’ Up!’s embossing folders specifically their Designer Frame folders.  I knew a lot of my customers had these folders and I always to like to show them ways to use their products differently and keep them excited to use them.  Well, this technique did the trick.  It’s what I’ve been demonstrating at my clubs this month and so far everyone has been ‘ohhhhhing and ahhhhhing’ – always a good sign! LOL  This is one of the reasons I love stamping and love Stampin’ Up! – no matter how long we’ve been stamping we never tire of it because of all these new ways of using our supplies!  Most of us also have the Big Shot machine too, and it’s just another reason to LOVE it.  I honestly don’t know how we lived without the Big Shot *grin*.

The card I made in the video is a sympathy card I needed – my hubby’s
best mate back in the UK just lost his father.  So I while we can’t be
there in person to lend our support and love, a hand stamped card is the
next best thing – a ‘hug’ in the mail, I always say.  Here’s the video
showing how I made this card along with the super cool Double Embossing
technique:

Supplies Used:
  • Designer Frames Embossing Folders
  • Argyle Embossing Folder
  • Big Shot
  • Pool Party Card Stock
  • Gumball Green Card Stock
  • Whisper White Card Stock
  • Best of Flowers Stamp Set
  • So Sorry Stamp Set
  • Pretty in Pink Ink Pad – retiring and only available while supplies!
  • Regal Rose Ink Pad ~ retiring and only available while supplies last!
  • Bashful Blue Ink Pad – retiring and only available while supplies last!
  • Baja Breeze Ink Pad – retiring and only available while supplies last!
  • Certainly Celery Ink Pad ~ retiring and only available while supplies last!
  • Gumball Green Ink Pad
  • Black Stazon Ink
  • Aqua Painters
  • Paper Snips
  • White Organza Ribbon
  • Snail Adhesive

Here’s another card I made using this technique.  This card features the same embossing folders along with the Pop Up Posies Kit and the ‘Hey There, Friend’ stamp from the Paper Pumpkin kit.

For the centre piece on the above card I used my extra large oval punch with the “Hey there, Friend”.  I just love this little stamp.  For some reason it
really makes me happy.

Speaking of what makes me happy, I have to tell ya – I just got my first ever pair of wellies.  And they make me happy too!  There’s something childlike about wearing a pair of wellies, isn’t there?  I just had to walk in the puddles and the river yesterday when I took my pooch Rosey for a walk.

It was truly a moment of pure gleefullness!!!!  Silly me, I even had to take a photo of my said boots ~ but it’s going to look great in my new ‘This and That’ smash book! These books are all the rage and I can’t wait to start mine! If you’ve not heard about Smash books click here to see Stampin’ Up!’s “This and That” video.

We have new cases for our
wood mount stamp sets!

Yessire and they’re stinkin’ awesome!  Just watch the video and you’ll see what I mean….

So what do you think?  Do you love them?  I like them a lot and can’t wait to start getting them from Stampin’ Up!  Organizing my stamps and supplies will be easier than ever with these cases.

I have good news that I can’t wait to share with you:

April 10th marked my 11th anniversary with Stampin’ Up! and this past weekend I earned the Stampin’ Up! Getaway Trip to San Diego! What a fabulous way to celebrate my journey as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator!  I couldn’t have done it without all my terrific customers and “Serene Stampers” team – so a big THANKS for your continued support and patronage! I love you to bits!  My year long goal has been to earn the Stampin’ Up! Grand Vacation (a Caribbean cruise) and I’ve been working really hard on it and am getting close! I’ve got until June to earn it.  How cool is it to have your hard work (which I happen to love, in case you didn’t notice…hee hee) rewarded with all expenses paid trips for two?  Stampin’ Up! ROCKS.

This weekend I’ll be heading to our local yarn shop to share some cool projects with them, showcasing the cute “Hand Knit By” stamp set – I’ll share all the ideas with you next week.

Another video is coming your way!
I will show you how to
make the fastest cards ever
(I made three in under three minutes!).
You won’t want to miss it!  (I’ll post it over the weekend!)

And don’t forget, the “Last Chance” list will soon be released from Stampin’ Up!! Mark April 24th on your calenders to see which sets and accessories from the current catalogue will be going, going GONE forever! If you’re like me, each year we’re on pins and needles waiting to see what’s going to be on the retirement list!  And as with past years, I’ll be having my ‘Retirement Party’ at the end of this month and you’re all invited!  Details will be announced on Monday!  I can’t wait!  There’s always something fun to look forward to hey?  Life. Is. Good.

Enjoy the weekend and HAPPY STAMPING!

PS – Are you too busy to find the time to craft and make fun projects?  Do you need a 30 minute creative escape?  Want it delivered right to your door every month?  How about getting a craft kit with everything already prepared for you – all you have to do is stamp and assemble?    Subscribe to my monthly Paper Pumpkin kit in the mail!  Just click here!

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
