Butterly Birthday Card

July 1, 2015 Leave a Comment

Today’s card is one that I made without any real ‘plan’ – I made it up as I went along – and video taped it as I did it! How’s that for brave? LOL  I needed to make a birthday card for a dear friend of mine but it’s still a bit tricky making cards with most all of my supplies back in Nova Scotia, while I’m here on Vancouver Island. I’ve been getting a lot of mileage out of the four stamp sets I have with me, my markers and a few other bits and bobs. Fortunately, the inspiration for my friend’s card came to me while I was enjoying my morning coffee on the back porch:

You can’t tell from the photo, but there were a couple of white butterflies flitting around the flowers. I grabbed my inks and stamps and started creating.

And here is the finished card:

I’m off to the beach today – it’s nice to visit my favourite spots as it’s been years since I’ve been back on my home stompin’ grounds. Looking forward to my hubby and fur-kids coming out (hopefully soon!).  It’s going to be hot and sunny today – great weather to celebrate Canada Day though!

AvatarI joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
