Clear Stamp Trick

January 21, 2011 Leave a Comment

HAPPY FRIDAAAAAAAAAAAAAYY!!!

Last night was my monthly ‘Ink-spiration’ night (details here) and I had fun stamping with Cindy. She used some of my stamp sets for her projects and fell in love with ‘Farm Life‘.
Here’s a card I made, using the same set, for my husband last year:

If memory serves me, I believe I completely cased this from the SU Idea Book & Catalogue! I copy ideas from the catalogue all the time. It’s a great way to get your mojo going! You can get your own copy for FREE by simply hosting a workshop or you can purchase one by clicking here. (Contact me if you’d like to host a Stampin’ Up! party & have a great time with friends and earn some free STAMPS!)

I water coloured using my Classic Ink pads and Aqua Painter.

Have you tried our clear stamps yet? I love them! To be honest, I like both my wood and clear stamps equally. Sometimes though, the clear stamps may not want to stay on the clear blocks. If you have the same thing happen, I’ve got some tips for you.

  1. Make sure your clear block is CLEAN!
  2. Do not use Stampin’ Mist on your block – just soap and water
  3. Sometimes, I find that by just rubbing the block on my jeans the rubber image will cling better
  4. Make sure your stamps are warm – they don’t cling as well if they’re cold.
  5. Be careful on how you adhere the decal to your clear stamps. Sometimes I’ve put mine on too tightly (make sure you don’t stretch the decal) thus making my rubber bend (there’s a joke there, but I won’t say it…*wink*). Once the decal is on, it’s on for good, so if this happens to you, here’s the best way I’ve found to ensure your clear stamps ALWAYS, without fail, stay on the clear block. Tombow Mono Multipurpose Glue! Yessire! This is the ticket! Simply put a light layer of glue on your image and then set it aside to dry. It will then adhere to your block perfectly and peel off with no problem – leaving no residue.

Today we’re expecting quite a big snowfall and that makes me want to stay cozy, keep close to the wood stove, make some fresh coffee and just STAMP! So I’d best get some work done then I’m hittin’ the ink, paper and stamps and glitter will be flyin’! Have a great weekend and HAPPY STAMPING!

AvatarI joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
