Craftin’ up a storm!

September 12, 2010 Leave a Comment

Hi there! I’ve been busy getting ready for my demonstrations at the Queen’s County Fair in Gagetown this coming week. I’ll be demonstrating super fun cards and gift items Sept. 16th & 17th from 7-9pm, and Saturday the 18th from 4-6pm. I have been excited about this and I can’t wait to show you all the goodies I’ve been making for my display table! I’ll reveal them here on the days of the fair. Also, I’ve been creating wonderful classes – mostly with Christmas in mind – so that we can all get ahead start on our holiday cards and presents. I’ve still got more classes in the works, so you’ll want to check my Calendar of Events often. I would love to see you at one of my classes – they’re a ton of fun, if I do say so myself!

Here’s some fun projects I’ve been making recently:

Altered Dominoes!! These have brooch pins attached to the back, but would also be great as magnets! All my dominoes were stamped with Stampin’ Up! images – some retired. Way. Too. Much. Fun. Toooootally addicting!

I love the old shoe!

We live on a VERY scenic route, along the Saint John River, making it perfect for those who love to drive motorcycles – and trust me, LOTS go past our way during the summer and autumn months. There is a wonderful farm stand across the street that lets me sell my stamped creations and these are two of the candles I took over. There are also coordinating motorcycle cards, domino pins and notepads – ideal as a Christmas gift or stocking stuffer for the motorcycle lover in your life!

Did you happen to notice, in the photo above of yours truly, what I was wearing around my neck?

I FINALLY bought a Simply Adorned Charm and Chain and love love love love LOVE it!

The charms work like lockets so that you can open them and add your own personalized insert. You can create an insert to match any occasion, any mood or even any style or colour of clothing you might want to wear! Or you can also insert your favourite photos.

The charms feature tempered glass…bevelled on the front and flat on the back…as well as a lobster clasp for fastening it to the chains. The charms are nickel plated and come in several different sizes. The largest size, which is 1 1/2″ x 2″, is the perfect size to make a beautiful Christmas ornament for that special someone or for a cherished keepsake.

The necklace chains come in 2 different lengths and feature a toggle clasp. The 8″ bracelet and the necklace chains are made of stainless steel to coordinate with the finish of the charms.

My dear friend and downline, Rhonda, has some Simply Adorned jewellery and between seeing her creations – as well as the Simply Adorned jewellery shown at convention – I was sold. What took me so long to get these???? Did I mention that I LOVE them? Wayyy tooooo much FUN! I can’t wait to make some more inserts (autumn, Halloween, Christmas, vintage….).

When you purchase your charm and chain through me – either on my online store or as a regular order – and I will include your first 3 charm inserts, with my compliments!

I received lots of AMAZING hand stamped cards for my (40th!) birthday last month (THANKS everyone!) and I just had to share them with you! I’ll be posting some more cards I received over the next few days. Lots of talented women out there, lemme tells ya!

Here’s FABULOUS card from Cathy:

Another FABULOUS card from Shallon (I miss you Shallon!!!):

Cathy also made some great cards that she brought to show me:

Here’s a close up – I think this is a superb card to demonstrate at workshops, using the Big Shot!

Another super coolieo card:

Can you guess how Cathy made the wreath??? Leave a comment – correct answers will get a little somethin’ somethin’ from me!

Here’s a sample of Thank You cards I made for orders this month (I always include a 3×3 card with each order!)

‘Inkspiration Thursday’ was a blast this week (see my Calendar of Events for details) and Allison showed ME a great new technique that I can’t wait to share with all of you. Thank you Allison! Also, Allison’s daughter, Madisyn (whom I adore!) needed assistance inking up her two-cell jumbo wheel cartridge and we were both amazed and delighted with the final outcome! Way too cool!!! Check it out (click on the photos to see them larger). I can’t wait to try this with some of my wheel stamps – it’s going to make for stunning scrapbook pages and wrapping paper!!!

Allison helps Madisyn with the first roll. And yes, that thar is a gingersnap cookie. My fav. I’ll post the recipe for y’all tomorrow….

She’s a PRO!

Look how pretty this is!!!

That’s it for me.

HAPPY STAMPING!

AvatarI joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
