December Birthday Cards

December 7, 2018 Leave a Comment

Happy Friday! Another week, come and and gone, and we’re getting closer to Christmas! This weekend I have some friends coming over for some stamping and crafting fun. We’re going to make holiday ornaments, cards, tags and just enjoy the season together. I’m really looking forward to it. I love that Stampin’ Up! brought us all together, otherwise I doubt I would have met these amazing ladies, whom I’m grateful to now call my friends! The same goes for members of my “Serene Stampers” group, whom I adore. Each month I like to make birthday cards for these lovely gals and send them a little ‘hug in the mail’. The cards I made for this month’s birthday girls were based on a card demonstrated by Shelli Gardner, Stampin’ Up’s co-founder, at last month’s On Stage event. Shelli used new product coming out in our Occasions catalogue and I used three different stamp sets on my version:

First I inked the doily image from “Very Vintage” with Daffodil Delight, stamping off first onto scrap paper. Next, I stamped the branch from “Colourful Seasons” with Old Olive ink and flowers with Daffodil Delight. The sentiment is from “Picture Perfect Birthday”. I decided to add a little bird and butterflies from our “Enjoy Life” stamp set. I love combining stamp sets on a project!

This card was done the same as above, minus the butterflies. I also splattered on some Soft Suede ink, spritzed with Champagne Shimmer Mist Paint and finished with pearls and Dazzling Diamonds. Such an easy card, but imagine a set of these done up in different colours? I think it would make a very nice gift!

This card design is so simple and sweet but don’t you just love it? This would also be a fabulous layout design for Christmas and other occasions too!

Well, I’m heading outside to bring in some wood before the predicted snow comes later today and tomorrow. We’re not supposed to get too much, mind you, but winds and temps are supposed to drop to -12. Yuck (I really don’t care for the cold…). So I’m going to finish my morning coffee and then get moving. Later today I will be filming THREE new videos for you! One is for the card I shared yesterday, as I had some requests for a video tutorial. The second video is cute Christmas decor piece, which is also the make and take project for my “Serene Stampers” Virtual Christmas party this month (I sent the supplies to everyone participating!). The third video is long time coming and MUCH requested – an updated version of my Glitter Napkin Technique!!! Yessirre! FINALLY! The original version used products that have lone been retired from Stampin’ Up! (ie. heat and stick powder) so I’m going to show a new way to create this WOW technique. Wait until you see the napkins I bought too – oh my gosh – I can’t wait to put them to use! So stand by – these videos will be posted just as fast as I can so that you’ll have lots of inspiration for more Christmas crafting and card making.

Ok. Coffee and wood. Must run. Have a WONDERFUL day! xx

Thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you were inspired by today’s project and that you’ll visit again soon!

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
