Hi Friends! Can you believe it’s August 1st? How in the world is that possible? What happened to July? Geez-louise. The only good thing about summer going so fast is the fact that Autumn is my very favourite season – but I’m sure not in a rush for it. And I’m certainly not looking forward to winter this year (I’m still not recovered from last winter). So I am going to take some time to enjoy the sunshine and warm weather. We were a bit worried when we first moved here this past spring – there were a lot of bugs. Fortunately they are virtually all gone (whew!) and we can enjoy the outdoors now. And blueberry picking season will be here in a couple of weeks! My hubby and I did a walk about today, to inspect our berries (we have 18 acres of them), and they’re really coming along nicely. There is no way we’re going to be able to pick them all – besides, this is our first summer here in NS, so we’re still still learning the ropes. It turns out our dog is an excellent blueberry picker. I may have made a mistake giving him some berries when I picked a bowl full today. Now he just dives in the bushes and eats away! YIKES! Crazy hound. But it was pretty cool to just wander out in the back yard to pick berries for dessert – gotta love that! My hubby and I also love getting on our bikes and riding through the blueberry fields, as you can see here:

I’m starting to get my feet planted here and have been booking Stampin’ Up! events around town. I am really excited because I’ve been missing stamping with friends. I’m all signed up to teach stamping classes this fall with the Antigonish County Community Recreation programs – I can’t wait.
Beginning August 18th I’ll be offering occasional “Coffee and a Card” classes at the Prissy Pig Cafe and Deli. Once participants have RSVP’d they just drop in for an hour, their first cup of coffee (or tea) is on me, and create one beautiful card. This is the card we’ll be making this month:
Cost of the class is only $5 and that includes all the supplies (except for adhesive). Everything will be precut – all you have to do is stamp and assemble! If you’d like to join in on the fun – and I’d be thrilled if you did – please contact me to RSVP your spot at serenestamper@gmail.com
Along with the class on August 18, there will be more sessions coming up on August 23, September 13 and September 15, all between 10am to 12pm, at the Prissy Pig Cafe and Deli.

This weekend we have friends staying with us so we’ll be playing tourists and seeing the sights, as well as just enjoying time here at home. I still can’t get over how peaceful our new home is – it’s just a little bit of heaven tucked amongst Mother Nature’s finest.
Have a great weekend and I’ll be back with another project for you on Monday!
HAPPY STAMPING!
