Hi Friends. I know I’ve been a bit MIA lately, but there’s a reason for that. My dad went into the hospital last week, due to some health and breathing issues, and he was rushed into ICU. Suffice it to say, my husband and I scrambled to get flights booked and flew home to Comox as fast as we could.
There were a few days we weren’t sure for a bit there if my dad was going to pull through, but he is a fighter and he had a lot of prayers over him! I am VERY happy to say that he should be released from the hospital in the next day or two.
We’re just heading back to the hospital now to see him, but I thought I’d touch base with you, my sweet stamping friends, to let you know why I’ve been quiet.
Fortunately, I had some photos on my phone of a card I had planned on doing a video for. Though I didn’t have time to film the process, I can at least share the card with you!
I thoroughly enjoyed making this card! Here are the details:
- Lemon Lime Card Base: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
- Berry Burst Card Stock: 3 3/4″ x 5″ – cut with Countryside Corner die and glue to card base.
- Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper (blue pattern): 3 1/2 ” x 4 3/4″ – glue to centre of card.
- Basic White Card Stock: 4″ x 5 1/4″. I stamped this piece with the Countryside Corners using Versamark and embossed with gold, then cut the centre with the coordinating die. Adhere to card base with Stampin’ Dimesionals.
- Flowers: stamped with Versamark onto Fluid card stock and embossed in black. I then loaded up my water painter with the inks (one at a time) and squeezed the colors inside the stamped & embossed lines of the flowers. Once dry I stamped the centre of each flower with Versamark ink and embossed in gold and cut with coordinating dies.
- Bee: inked with markers direct to stamp & Clear Wink of Stella added to wings.
- Greenery: Garden Green card stock cut with die from Cheerful Daisies dies. I also stamped the leaves stem from the “Lighting the Way” set using Garden Green ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. Once die cut I glued to card.
- To finish the card: I added a few Iridescent Rhinestones.
If all goes as planned, we will be flying back to Nova Scotia early next week and I’ll be looking forward to filming some new videos for you. Until then, HAPPY STAMPING & enjoy the long weekend!
