2013 Spring Catalogue and Sale-a-Bration SNEAK PEEK Event!

Hi Friends!  Here is a card that members of my “Stamp Club Express” made this month.  They loved it! It’s so cute.  It’s always a ‘wow’ when you’re masking something on your cards, I think.  There’s something kinda exciting when you peel away the mask or post it note to reveal your images in a new way.  On this card the reveal was having the little snowpeople suddenly ‘appear’ outside the window! FUN!!  The icicles are also a ‘cool’ way to add “WOW” to your cards too.

Here are another couple of cards I made:

Are you still busy planning your Christmas gifts? Trying to figure out what to get whom?  Perhaps funds are tight or you just can’t figure out what to buy for your friends and family?  I know how you can make the holidays really special just by making your gifts this year. I’ve made my gifts for years because I enjoy it so much.  I love tucking all my homemade items into baskets – jams, jellies, salsas, my homemade hand cream, tea cup candles, tea mix, my own dried fruit potpourri that makes the whole house smell divine while it simmers on the stove, ornaments, recipe books, calendars and memory books created with My Digitial Studio.  I’m never at a loss for ideas – the hard part is narrowing them down!

Sometimes my husband will even help me which makes it even more special because we’re creating fun Christmas memories together.  And speaking of husband, here’s his favourite Christmas recipe that makes fabulous a gift – just package up and tuck into a nice mug!

CAMP COFFEE

Ingredients

  • 2 cups powdered non-dairy coffee creamer
  • 1 1/2 cups instant hot chocolate mix
  • 1 1/2 cups instant coffee granules
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Directions

  1. In a
large bowl, stir together the coffee creamer, hot chocolate mix,
instant coffee, sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon. Store in an airtight
    container at room temperature.
  2. To make 1
cup, spoon 2 heaping tablespoons of the mix into a coffee mug, and add
1 cup of boiling water. Stir until dissolved.
Making gifts allows you to give unique and
personal gifts with a handmade touch. “It’s the thought that counts” or so the
saying goes. And it’s never more true than when the gift is homemade. Why?
Because you can make it special and just for the recipient. And while you are
making it, guess what you’re doing? Thinking about the person that you are
making it for! I always say this because it’s true when you’re making cards too!  Do you need some ideas of what you could make?
Try some of these:
–  a box of handstamped cards

–  a scrapbook ready for pictures

–  a finished scrapbook (great for grandparents!)

–  journals & notebooks

–  personalized stationery

–  customized office supplies (folders, paper clips, notepads, etc.)

–  a calendar

–  a stamped scarf

–  decorated photo frame (with or without a handstamped insert)

–  an ornament

–  a wreath

… and if you need MORE ideas, check out Stampin’ Up!’s boards on Pinterest!

So grab a cup of cocoa (or Camp Coffee!), put on some seasonal
music and create your own handcrafted holidays.

HAPPY STAMPING!

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
