“Ghoulish Goodies” Card Tutorial

September 14, 2020 1 Comment

Hi Friends! I don’t usually make Halloween cards – in fact, I can’t tell you how many YEARS it’s been since I made a Halloween card! However, I’ve got some adorable photos of our two grand-daughters (they’re one and two years old) from last year at Halloween that I want to scrapbook, so of course, I NEEDED stamps for that! I promise I’ll share my Halloween scrapbook pages with you, just as soon as I get them done. Catching up on my scrapbooking is on my agenda for this winter and I can’t wait!

Anywho, this year’s Halloween offerings from Stampin’ Up! are GORGEOUS! I’m placing an order today for the “Magic in this Night Suite“! I am really excited to create projects using all of the new goodies in this suite.  Speaking of ‘goodies’ I did get the “Ghoulish Goodies” stamp set and I am LOVIN’ it!

I decided to use this stamp set for my ‘Leader’s Project Sheet Group’ this month, so this morning, at 5am with my BIG cup of coffee, I got to stampin’! I must say, I really like how my card turned out!

This card was super easy to make – just a bit of sponging, some heat embossing and a little die-cuttin’ and it was done in no time at all! Here’s my tutorial for you – I hope you enjoy it!

Measurements:

Sahara
Sand: 8 ½” x 5 ½” , 4” x 2 ¼”

Basic
Black: 2” x 4 ¼”

Plaid
Tidings Designer Series Paper: 2 ¼” x 4 ¼”

Instructions:

  1. Fold
Sahara Sand card stock in half to create card base.

  2. Using
Stampin’ Sponge, ink Designer Series Paper with Sahara Sand ink pad.

  3. Run
strip of Basic Black card stock through Stampin’ Cut & Emboss
Machine with die from Birds & More die collection. Glue behind
    the Designer Series Paper.

  4. Cut
a piece of Vanilla ribbon to measure 5”. Swipe Black Stazon ink
pad across front and back of ribbon. Adhere across front of Designer
Series Paper along the bottom edge. Glue to front of card.

  5. Place
4” x 2 ¼” Sahara Sand card stock onto Stamparatus. Place
birdcage onto card stock and pick up with Stamparatus plate. Ink
with Black Stazon and stamp down, Repeat until desired darkness.
Clean stamp and ink with Versamark and stamp. Remove card stock and
sprinkle with Clear Emboss Powder; shake off excess and set with
    heat tool.

  6. Place
card stock back onto the Stamparatus and repeat step 5 with spider
and sentiment images. Trim top of card stock so that piece measures
3 ¾” x 2 1/8” (this trims off the blank area above the spider
    line).

  7. Glue
stamped piece to 3 7/8” x 2 5/8” and place on card front with
    Stampin’ Dimensionals.

  8. Colour
three large rhinestone jewels with Dark Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blend
Marker and place on bottom left of card.

  9. Stamp
cat and ‘boo’ inside of card with Black Stazon in pad.

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…

Gorgeous. Love the whole thing–layout, stamp, plaid paper. Is it even legal to say gorgeous for Halloween? LOL
