Hi Friends. How is it possible that it’s Wednesday already? Seriously, the days are flying past soooo fast (yes, I know…they go faster as you get older). It seems like we were just getting ready for Christmas and now we’re already in the middle of January! I’ve also noticed that the days are getting longer, with it staying light outside later. That is a GOOD thing, in my books!
The card I made today is for a lovely lady in my “Serene Stampers” community, as she recently had to say so long to her beloved dog. I don’t even like calling our fur-kids ‘dogs’ because they are so much more than that. They truly are little people with fur and such a huge part of our family. The worst day of my entire life – and I’ve had some doozies – but the very worse was the day I had to put my 13-year-old dog Jake to rest, as he was beginning to suffer from a brain tumour. February 25th will mark nine years since that heart-breaking day. Hard to believe. Suffice to say, when someone loses their sweet pet, whether it be a dog or a cat, or another special critter, my heart really goes out to them. We only have our animals for a short time, but knowing they had a safe, loving, happy life is the best gift we can give them. In return, we receive unconditional love like no other.
For the dog image, I stamped once on the Whisper White layer and again on a scrap piece for the cut out with the punch. After adding some Sahara Sand ink with my aqua painter, I covered the entire dog with Versamark and then sprinkled on Clear Embossing Powder. Once set with the Heat Tool I cut the image with the “Dog Builder Punch” and placed on the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. |

I'll bet your friend just loved her card and your thoughtfulness. I understand how it is to lose a dog and it is not fun at all. This surely will cheer her up as it is such a cute card.
