“Holiday Creative Escape” a Success!

September 12, 2017 1 Comment

Hi Friends! My one day “Holiday Creative Escape” retreat in New Brunswick this past weekend was absolutely  fabulous! I had so much fun and I think it’s safe to say everyone who attended this retreat really enjoyed themselves! This is the goody bag everyone received when they arrived:

Each bag had a name tag and a welcome card that I made with the Christmas Quilt bundle.
Lots of goodies for my crafters – a box of the new “Merry Little Christmas” Memories & More card pack, precut supplies and tutorials for all four mini-classes, a sheet of Stampin’ Dimensionals, a photo frame and mini terracotta pot for home decor classes, a scavenger hunt game, new holiday catalogue, and a yummy treat:
This container holds a tummy chocolate truffle. These are known as ‘sour cream’ containers – so quick an easy. One of the first items I learned to make when I became a demonstrator 15 years ago and I still love making them today!
I also had sweet little hot chocolate pouches at everyone’s place setting when they arrived too, but I forgot to take photos of them. There were lots of cards and projects on display featuring products from both the annual and holiday catalogues…

All of the projects for the mini classes use the cards from the “Merry Little Christmas” Memories & More  that everyone received in their goody bags. I love these packs because they’re so versatile and are perfect for our memory keeping as well as cards and home decor.

I’ll also be offering all the retreat projects as an online class, and details will be posted later this week:
Let the crafting begin!

Throughout the day all the lovely ladies received little ‘pillow gifts’ – just some sweet treats featuring new products from the Holiday Catalogue:

I also asked my friend Kathy if she’d make her famous caramel popcorn for one of the ‘pillow gifts”, which she did and it was a big hit. (Kathy wouldn’t take any payment from me either, so a BIG thanks to you Kathy!!!)

The popcorn bags were decorated with a little tag from the new “Merry Little Labels” bundle, which is just an awesome stamp set and punch for gifts and cards:
Throughout the day we also played some stampin’ bingo and prizes were Stampin’ Up! products…so much fun!
I also served tea, coffee and fruit infused water and for lunch I made chilli with rolls and delicious squares from the Heatherton Activity Centre, where I volunteer for card classes.
Another highlight of my day was having some of my “Serene Stampers” team join in on the crafting fun! Wanda Schriver, Sherry Lackie, (me), Chrystal and Lorene. It was SO NICE to spend time with them.
My “Holiday Creative Escape” was jam-packed with good times & good friends, what could possible top it off to end the day? Why a fabulous gift pack featuring $100 worth of Stampin’ Up! product including (are you ready for it?) the new “Merry Patterns” exclusive stamp set just released this month!
This gorgeous host stamp set is only available with qualifying orders of $375 – find out more here.
EVERYONE wanted to win this special gift bundle and the lucky winner was Marie Green!
I was sad for the retreat to end. It was so great to spend time with friends creating and enjoying our time together.
My friends Judy and Cathy.

Thanks to EVERYONE who came out and spent the day with me. And thanks for those of you who gave me a hand taking everything down. Thank you Kathy for the delicious caramel popcorn and for putting us up for the weekend – we had a great time with you guys!

I’ve already been receiving such kind comments about the retreat – suffice to say there WILL be more one day AND full weekend retreats in the near future, in both New Brunswick and also here in Nova Scotia!

Testimonials:
“Hi Tina, Just a note to tell you we had a wonderful weekend. Your sweet, down to earth, friendly approach was a key ingredient to making the day a warm, fun and pleasant experience. The girls and I left discussing the amazing amount of work you put into this workshop and what a great job you did in every way. All went smoothly without a hitch.  Your card display was wonderful and I have to tell you you are one good cook! The chili was sooo delicious. A perfect choice. I could go on and on complimenting you on your many little decorative detail, but Tina I will just say this – you didn’t miss a thing. Thank you for presenting in this area.  An A1 experience!”

“Hi, Tina. Thanks again for the wonderful day! So much work went into it and I truly appreciated everything…from the delish chili to the yummy treats!” ~ Sherry

“Thanks for a great day. Our cards and projects were amazing as was the lunch. You said earlier you wanted to spoil us and you certainly succeeded! You did a pile of work preparing for this day and I want to thank you for all that you did. You are a great demonstrator and I learned a lot from you today. I also appreciate how you support other community groups like the one that prepared the delicious squares! You are an inspiration Tina and I wish you continued success with Stampin’ Up!”

AvatarI joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
