It’s coming…..

April 15, 2012 Leave a Comment

Hi Everyone!

Today is April 14th and while most people associate that with tax day, I associate it with the “day before the RETIRED LIST comes out”!  That’s right TOMORROW is the day Stampin’ Up! releases the retired list of all the stamp sets! WAHHHWHOO! I am so excited!  Now, I need to give you the heads up.  Do not be too alarmed when you see the list – it’s going to be big.  Real big.  But keep in mind that Stampin’ Up! has a lot more CLEAR stamp sets than ever before, so some of the stamps on the list will be repeats; wood, clear, English, French, etc.  Also, Stampin’ Up! is restructuring their new catalogue to make it better than ever! To do this, our new annual catalogue will be short about 32 pages.  Don’t fret!  A lot of the holiday and seasonal stamps will be moved into their own BIGGER (8″ x 11 1/2″) mini.  Also, our Decor Elements and Simply Adorned lines will be retiring as well (Stampin’ Up! will feature decor elements again, just not in the annual catalogue).  And I have to tell ya, with all these stamp sets retiring, just imagine all the fresh new stamp sets coming in to replace them!!! Oh. My. Goodness. I can’t wait.  But until then, I encourage you to get your favourite stamp sets on the retired list, because once they’re gone, they’re gone for good.  And just a little tip: if you miss out a stamp set (it’s first come, first serve) and figure you can buy in on ebay for example, take it from me (been there), you’ll pay three times too much for it.

Alrighty then.  On that note, here’s a quick card I found on Stampin’ Connection (for demonstrators only) that I just LOVE and had to share it with you.  It was made by fellow demonstrator, Lynda Lee:

Lynda used the new Bright Blossoms stamp set in such a clever way, creating the lovely border along the bottom of her card.  Then she used a the Framelit Label as a mat to sponge the centre and the expression is from one of my all time favourite sets (that I hope is NOT retiring) called Pursuit of Happiness.  Such a simple card but I think it has a real ‘wow’ factor.  I think I am going to have copy this idea…and then add some dazzling diamonds on the berries!

Have a nice night – I’ll post – and email (if you’re one of my newsletter subscribers) – the retired list for you first thing in the morning.

Stampin’ makes the heart happy!

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
