Jar of Love Card Tutorial

April 18, 2019 Leave a Comment

Hi Friends! Last night was my monthly All Occasion card class, which is always so much fun. Ordinarily, I keep our cards, two each of three designs, pretty simple. Last night though our cards were really stepped up! I wanted to use a few of our soon to be retired products so for today’s card I used the Jar of Love stamp set and coordinating Everyday Jars dies. I love these two products and am sorry to see them retired! Here’s the tutorial for this pretty card the ladies and I made last night:

Instructions:

  1. Fold 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ Petal Pink card stock in half to create card base.
  2. Cut Wood DSP 4″ x 5 1/4″ and glue to front of card.
  3. Cut Petal Promenade DSP to measure 4″ x 1 1/2″ and glue across the front of card.
  4. Cut Whisper White card stock with largest scallop die from Layering Circles dies on Big Shot. Ink inside of Country Floral embossing folder with Crumb cake and place scallop circle die cut inside; run through the Big Shot. Cut circle in half and glue one of the pieces to left side of card (save the second half for another card).
  5. Stamp jar with memento ink onto Whisper White card stock. Stamp three fireflies from Jar of Love set inside the jar and another two onto scrap piece of Whisper White. Stamp circle onto fireflies using So Saffron ink pad. Use coordinating dies to cut the two flies and jar. Place the jar and flies onto card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  6. Add Dazzling Diamond glitter to the wings of each firefly.
  7. Cut a banner from scrap piece of Wood DSP and glue under the jar, as shown. Place a pearl in the centre.
  8. Ink sentiment with memento ink and stamp onto scrap piece of Crumb Cake card stock. Cut with Classic Label Punch and glue below the jar.

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
