Love Cats Card Tutorial

February 10, 2023 Leave a Comment

Hi friends! If you’re looking to make a cute card or Valentine, the “Love Cats” set is a great one to use!

Create “paw-sitively” irresistible Valentine’s Day cards with the Love Cats Stamp Set. These “fur-tastic” felines are the “purr-fect” way to make quick card multiples. Just choose one of the three adorable kitten designs and pair it with a charming sentiment. Add a little colour to those hearts with your favourite colouring tool or keep it simple with some fun ink colours. If you’re just starting out in the crafting world, then this stamp set is just for you! You’ll be making Valentine’s Day cards, tags, and more with this “claw-some” stamp set.

* 6 cling stamps
* Suggested clear blocks (sold separately): b, c, d, i

Having three cats, I knew I had to get this stamp set. I always keep my eyes open for stamps that I will be able to use in my scrapbooks. This set is going to be very well used LOL. I know I’ll also be making lots of cards with my “Love Cats” stamps for my friends and family with kitties.

As a side note, “Love Cats” is a great set to use if you need to make thank you cards for your vet/pet sitter as well as to give to the animal rescue centre, etc.

I just had a thought…imagine using these stamps on shrink pastic to make charms for earrings, brooch, necklace, key chain? Oh my goodness. Perfect for gift giving or selling at craft fairs. Pair the images from “Love Cats” with doggy stamps…oh my mind, it never stops!

So speaking of cats, my black rescue cat, Rocky, is currently on the table next to me EATING the corner of my Stampin’ Up! catalogue! YIKES!

Ok, said catalogue removed, let’s get on to today’s tutorial, which I created for this month’s “Leaders Project Sheets” group….

“LOVE CATS” Card Tutorial

Measurements:

  • Basic White: 11” x 4 ¼” plus scrap piece for cats and sentiment
  • Balmy Blue – 4” x 5 ¼”

Instructions:

  1. Fold the 11” x 4 ¼” card stock in half to form card base.
  2. Place Balmy Blue card stock on to Stamparatus and position hanging cat. Pick up with Stamparatus plate and ink/stamp several times using Black Memento ink pad.
  3. Stamp same cat image a second time onto a post it note or masking paper and place onto image on Balmy Blue card stock.
  4. Once your cat is masked, position Decorative Masks onto Balmy Blue card stock and tap Versamark ink over top. Remove mask and sprinkle White Embossing Powder over, shaking off excess. If needed, use a small paintbrush to remove powder from the ‘line’ that the cat is hanging on. Set with Heat Tool. Adhere to card front.
  5. Stamp the cat images with Black Memento ink pad onto scrap piece of Basic White. Cut and place on card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  6. Add twine as shown on card, securing in place with a mini glue dot.
  7. Color the heart with Sweet Sorbet Stampin’ Write Marker, cut and place on card with a tiny piece of Stampin’ Dimensional.
  8. Stamp sentiment on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. Cut and glue to card.

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
