Lovely as a Tree – Leftover Bits & Pieces Card

May 9, 2019 1 Comment

Hi Friends! Over the last couple of days, I’ve been sharing cards with you that I’ve made using up leftover card supplies from classes. This has been a fun little challenge for myself and I also decided to only use retiring stamp sets.

Here’s the leftover bits & pieces for today’s card:

The stamp sets I’m using are both retiring;

Lovely as a Tree…

and Thankful Thoughts….

Here is my finished card:

I think this card turned out not too bad. For the background, I ran the Whisper White card stock layer through the Woodland Embossing folder (inked with Night of Navy & Pool Party ink, spritzed with water). Then I lightly sponged Early Espresso ink over top.

I stamped the trees with Early Espresso and sponged on Pool Party & Mossy Meadow ink. Then I decided to cut out a portion with the 2 1/4″ Circle punch. I really had NO IDEA what my plan was for this card…LOL I was sooo wingin’ it! I flipped the Whisper White layer with the circle cut over and stamped the sentiment from “Thankful Thoughts”. Then I stamped the ‘Thank You’ and accidentally wiggled the image! Oops!

I stamped the “Thank You” onto a scrap strip of paper, cut into a banner and popped over the mistake!
Now I’ve got a thank you card ready to give away!

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…

    This turned out so awesome. I love the distressed look. The layout is so cool too.
