If you’ve never tried paper-piecing before, you’ll definitely have to give it go. It’s one of my favourite things to do on cards. Simply stamp your image onto Designer Series Paper (for my card I used scrap bits of Garden Impressions DSP) and then cut out. Stamp the same image onto Whisper White card stock and then glue the cut DSP pieces to fill in.
Before I glued on the cut flowers and leaves, I added a wash of colour to the stamped image on the Whisper White card stock. Smoky Slate and Pool Party to the ‘lacey’ background, Old Olive for the stems and leaves and then colours on the flowers to match the Designer Series Paper.
I wasn’t sure which sentiment I was going to use on my card, when suddenly “Mother’s Day” popped into my head. I know it’s not going to be Mother’s Day until May, but I really thought the flowers image was ideal for a “Happy Mother’s Day”. So Mom, if you’re reading this, at least your gift will be a surprise… 😉
To finish the card I added a couple of pearls, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter and a spritz of Champagne Shimmer Mist Paint. I really love how today’s card turned out!
Supply List:
Well, friends, that’s it for me today. I’m off to town to grab a few groceries before tomorrow’s predicted snow storm (17cm) hits. Tonight is my “All Occasion Card Class” so I’ll share photos of our cards with you tomorrow too.
Thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you were inspired by today’s project and that you’ll visit again soon!

I, too, love early morning coffee and stamping. After working afternoons and not going to bed until 12:30 a.m., I hopped out of bed at 7 a.m. to get to my card-making. Using a SU sympathy set to make 12 sympathy cards.

12 Sympathy cards is a lot, Beth! Wow. They're sure to touch the hearts of those receiving them. xx
