March Stamp Club

March 18, 2012 Leave a Comment

Hi Everyone! I hope you’re having a nice weekend! My stamp clubs this month were a ton of fun, as they ALWAYS are, and I wanted to share this month’s technique with you.  This cool technique is one that I learned while at the Stampin’ Up! Leadership Conference in Texas in January.  It’s mega quick and easy and I was worried the gals would think the technique was too ‘cinchy’ but everyone just LOVED it! It’s also relaxing – a great project to use up your scraps of card stock and designer series paper AND zone out. LOL.  It’s called the ‘Herringbone Technique‘.

Here are the wonderful ladies is my stamp club #3 – ALL ARE WELCOME to come and stamp with us! We have a ball! Click here for the details!
For our cards I cut (retired) card stock into 3×4″.  Then I cut the Big Shot Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets into the same size and covered the card stock.  You now have a wonderful STICKY surface to play with and all you do is cover it with your strips of paper! It doesn’t matter if your strips are thick or thin, it will work out beautifully!

Your table will become a mess with all the strips but hey, that’s part of the fun!

No two cards will be alike.  And EVERY card turns out so pretty!

For our cards we used the Mixed Bunch Stamp set and the coordinating Blossom Punch.

Both of these new items are featured in the 2012 Occasions Mini.  I’ve been using this stamp set and punch a LOT!
Then we used scraps of designer series paper from the Sale-a-Bration ‘Everyday Enchantment’ and the Occasions “Twitterpated“.  The flowers were punched out of Very Vanilla and Peach Parfait card stock and we used the Designer Printed brads.

The flowers were then popped onto the card with stamping dimensionals.
The sentiments are from the Short and Sweet stamp set and was punched out with the Modern Label Punch.

This was the second card we made.  We only used the ‘Everyday Enchantment’ Designer Series Paper for the Herringbone technique.  The hearts were cut using the new Hearts Collection Framelit dies for the Big Shot and the card stock we used was Whisper White and Poppy Parade.  The branch for the flower was punched out with the Bird Builder Punch

You can get the coordinating Language of Friendship stamp set for FREE during Sale-a-Bration! Click here!)

This would be such a nice card for anniversary, wedding, as well as Valentines.
Here’s a card sample I received at the Leadership Conference with the same layout. It was created by Chiaki Haverstick.
That’s it for me! I’m off to enjoy the sunshine – it’s so exciting to see all the green plants poking out of my flower beds!
HAPPY STAMPING!

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
