“Meant to Be” Valentine Gift Card Holder Tutorial

February 10, 2019 2 Comments

Hi Friends! I hope you’re having a nice weekend! Here’s a tutorial for a gift card holder, perfect for giving to loved ones for Valentine’s Day or any time of year!

Supplies:
  • Stamp Sets – Meant to Be Bundle (150587)
  • Card Stock – Lovely Lipstick (146970); Balmy Blue (146982); Whisper White (100730); Crumb Cake (120953)
  • Stamp Pads – Lovely Lipstick (147140); Flirty Flamingo (147052)
  • Misc. – All My Love Designer Series Paper (DSP) (148576); All My Love Ribbon Combo Pack (148584); Big Shot (143263); Big Shot Die Brush (144262); Envelope Punch Board (133774); Fine Tip Glue Pen (138309)
Measurements:
  • DSP: 6” x 6” for outer envelope, 5” x 5” for gift card envelope, 12” x 4” for accordion fold (scored at 3”, 6” and 9”)
  • Lovely Lipstick card stock : two of 2-3/4“ x 3-3/4”
  • Balmy Blue card stock: 2-3/4“ x 3-3/4”
  • Crumb Cake card stock: 2-3/4“ x 3-3/4”
  • White card stock: 7/8” x 4” and scrap
  • Lovely Lipstick Ribbon: 18”
  • Flirty Flamingo Ribbon: 14”
Instructions:

  1. Punch envelopes using both pieces of square DSP, following directions as listed on the envelope punch board: 6”x 6” DSP= use 3” x 4” card, 5”x 5”= use Gift Card measurements. Round the corners of each corner of the envelopes.
  2. Fold the long DSP into an accordion along the score lines. Adhere to center of larger envelope (open).
  3. Stamp sentiment on white card stock strip with Lovely Lipstick. Stamp sentiment on Crumb Cake card stock with Lovely Lipstick and hearts in Lovely Lipstick and Flirty Flamingo.
  4. Adhere Crumb Cake layer to top of accordion fold as shown in photo:
  5. Cut lace heart from Lipstick card stock and scroll from white card stock using the Big Shot. Attach scroll to Balmy Blue panel with Fine Tip Glue Pen and then to second section of accordion panel. Slip white sentiment through lacy heart and adhere to first section of accordion panel using Fine Tip Glue pen.
  6. Assemble smaller envelope, leaving top flap open to insert gift card or message. Tie Flamingo ribbon around to keep it closed and adhere to the third section of the accordion panel with the flaps facing up (so you can open it).
  7. Adhere Lipstick layer to fourth section of accordion panel (for a photo).
  8. Fold up the accordion insert and envelope flaps, then tie the Lipstick ribbon around the card to close.

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…

Loving you Valentine gift card holder. That paper is gorgeous. I am always looking out for different styles of gift card holders because I give out a lot. I'll be making some of these. Thanks for the Inspiration. Glad I stopped by.

Oh my gosh! This is just the most perfect gift card holder. What I love about it is the many spaces to write on. I'm definitely putting this in my "project" folder as I want to make it at some point. You are an inspiration Tina!
