Hi Friends! Happy Saturday! Remember yesterday I mentioned I was going to take a break from Stampin’ Up! work this weekend? Yeah, well, that didn’t last long! Here I am, enjoying my morning coffee, writing this post because I couldn’t resist sharing MORE cards with YOU! Ahh, well, it’s a nice way to start off my weekend!
Yesterday I needed to make a few more cards for members of my team celebrating their anniversary with Stampin’ Up!. I do this every month, as well as team birthday cards. It’s just my little way to show them how much I appreciate them and how much I care. To me, cards are like a HUG in the mail, right?
I’m still on my “Faux Mother of Pearl” kick because once you start playing with this technique, it’s hard to stop! So I pulled out my supplies and I had eight cards made in no time flat – and I managed to get them all in the mail yesterday too! YAY! If you haven’t yet seen my video demonstration for the “Faux Mother of Pearl” technique, click HERE.
I used Champagne Shimmer Mist paint, then sponged on Pool Party, Mint Macaron, So Saffron and Rococo Rose inks. I then cut this into rectangles and stamped the images from the “Positive Thoughts” stamp set on top.
This is with the Frost White Shimmer Paint, So Saffron and Merry Merlot inks.
Onto the above faux mother of pearl paper, I stamped the butterfly image from the Positive Thoughts stamp set, using Black Stazon ink.
Here are the butterflies after I cut them with the coordinating dies.
The sentiment is from the “Make a Splash” host stamp set.
A used a few pearls to embellish and finish the card.
On the inside of the cards, I stamped Stampin’ Up’s “Statement of the Heart”:
I ALWAYS stamp my envelopes!
So there you go! More ideas for using the “Faux Mother of Pearl” technique. My head is spinning with this technique and all the possibilities you can use with it. I can’t wait to use blue inks and create some Christmas cards! This technique would also be stunning for wedding cards, don’t you think?
Give this a try – I know you’ll have a LOT of fun with it!
Supply List:
Well, friends, my coffee cup is empty and it’s time to refill it. It’s a cold day here in Nova Scotia and I’m grateful for our woodstove, lemme tell ya. Nothing beats wood heat. So I’m going to go add a few more sticks to the stove and figure out what I’m going to do with the rest of the day.
I’ll probably be stamping. Hee hee.
Enjoy the day & HAPPY STAMPING!

These certainly have the wow factor and might be a candidate for an ATC swap I want to join called "shiny". Off to view your video.
