My February Card Class

February 23, 2015 Leave a Comment

Hi Friends! This winter has been challenging with
regards to our internet connection, to say the least, which is why I haven’t
been able to post this week!
Living in such a rural location, we have to use a
satellite internet service and it turns out our current provider failed to
inform us about a cap on our usage each month… Uploading my videos quickly
takes us beyond our limit and we end up running on ‘limited rate’, which slows
things down to a crawl that is even worse than the old dial-up speeds. This
makes doing anything on the web something of a nightmare, with a very sketchy
connection that is virtually useless. Not impressed. This week has been
quite frustrating, as I’m sure you can imagine. Suffice to say, once our
contract is up we’ll be switching providers. That being said, we’ve also had
our power going off and on, due to the weather.
Ah well, in the grand scheme of things, it’s not the end of the world.
The good news is you are now going to get four new videos all at once to make
up for lost time! LOL  I’m sure you won’t
mind the extra viewing…

…last week I taught a class with some new ladies I met
who wanted me to do quite basic cards, with no Big Shot and nothing ‘cutesy’ –
not an easy task for me.  As it was, I HAD to use the Polka Dot embossing folder on the Lotus Blossom card, I simply couldn’t resist!  One of the
ladies also requested I demonstrate how to use the ‘2-step Stampin’ sets (which
are a favourite of mine
). So without further ado, here are the four cards, with
videos, from this month’s class:

Card #1 LOTUS BLOSSOM

Card #3 WORLD OF DREAMS

Card #4 STIPPLED BLOSSOMS

I hope you enjoyed today’s cards and videos.  For the most part they were pretty basic but sometimes simple cards are the best ones to demonstrate in classes, especially when you’re not sure what kind of stampers will be there and whether or not they’re beginners. Regardless, it’s always good to have some quick card layouts and techniques up our sleeves, right?

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
