One Sheet Wonder Swirly Bird Quick Cards

November 14, 2018 1 Comment

Hi Friends! Wednesday already and the middle of November. Where does the time go? Today we’re expecting winds up to 80-100 klms which will also drop the temperature to -20. MINUS 20! In a word: yuck. I’m a Leo. Us lions prefer the warm sunshine! LOL However, I’ve got the wood stove on and the house is cozy. It’s only 7:30am but I’ve already played ball with my dogs outside, grabbed the ladder to take down my wind chimes and remembered to take the hose off the house and put inside the garage. Now it’s time to pour another coffee and get to work – I’ve got a full day ahead of things to do. I sure love my job as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator!

Today I’m sharing an oldie but a goodie, because it may be new to YOU! It’s called a One Sheet Wonder (OSW). I love making cards using the OSW technique! Basically, you’re using your stamps to decorate and cover an entire 8 1/2″ x 11″ sheet of Whisper White card stock to cut into cards. You can also do this with a piece of 12″ x 12″ card stock and there are many templates you can use to cut it into multiple cards, bookmarks, labels and more.

There’s yet another version of the One Sheet Wonder, using Designer Series Paper, that you can cut into pieces to make lots of cards that are quick and easy. I have a few samples of the Designer Series Paper OSW cards, which you can see on my blog post here and video here.

For today’s cards I used 8 1/2″ x 11″ card stock for my One Sheet Wonder, using the Swirly Bird stamp set and the 2018-2020 In Colour ink pads. These cards are quite bright, but for this time of year, I think ‘bright’ can be a good thing on a gloomy day, don’t you?

Stamp sets used: Perennial Birthday and Enjoy Life

Stamp set used: Detailed with Love

Here are some more cards I made earlier today:

Ink Pads: Lovely Lipstick, Pineapple Punch, Grapefruit Grove and Blueberry Bushel

Stamp sets used: Picture Perfect Birthday and Detailed with Love

Ink Pads: Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, Blueberry Bushel and Call Me Clover

Stamp sets used: Perennial Birthday, Picture Perfect Birthday and Country Home

Ink Pads: Grapefruit Grove, Blueberry Bushel, Pineapple Punch and Old Olive

Oh, remember I mentioned in my video that I keep the scrap bits from my One Sheet Wonder? Well, you can even use those to create cards too!

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…

Wow, these are so nice. I've learned you work like a machine–LOL. The swirls are darling.

Your weather doesn't sound good. Hey, I'm a Leo too. My passion is to sit on the beach with a good book.
