Painted Glass Birthday Card

September 4, 2018 2 Comments

Hi Friends! I hope you had a nice long Labour Day weekend! It sure went by fast though. I worked on tutorials for the new Colour Coach Online Stamp club, which begins this month. I’m very excited about it and you can read more about this new club here. I also spent some time in my veg garden – it’s full of beets, cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchinis, and other yummy goodies that I’ll soon be canning. I also have a wonderful herb garden – nothing compares with fresh herbs in recipes. Thyme, sage and rosemary being my favourite (and most used).

I decided to make some chicken cornish pasties – one of my favourite recipes! There’s something comforting about a savory filling tucked inside a butter crust. Delicious!
This weekend was also perfect weather for walking my two hounds – not too hot. They love going past the farms and watching the cows when they’re out in the field. Unfortunately, the cows were in a different field this weekend, so Rosey and Cooper were a tad disappointed, but still enjoyed their walk.

We also had a couple of bonfires this weekend, which I always enjoy, especially with a fresh cup of coffee. We often hear coyotes, along with the evening crickets.
I really love living out in the country!

On to today’s card! This is one that I made a few weeks ago. The background is made with scrap strips of Designer Series Paper that I glued onto card stock and then I stamped the sheet music over top, embossing in gold. I placed a piece of window sheet behind the die cuts and used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop it up. Because my card had been lying on my work desk, I accidentally got a couple of ink splatter marks on the front, so I used pearls to cover them up!

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…

Wow, my jaw dropped on the ground with this gorgeous card. Bravo.

Your pasties look and sound delicious. I agree with you, fresh herbs make a difference. Because I live in apt. I have to buy them from the grocery store. My go to's are rosemary and tyme.

Hi Beth! Thanks for you comment. I almost didn't post this card! It's been sitting on my desk for WEEKS, as I wasn't sure how to finish it. I finally added the ribbon, pearls and rhinestones and decided to share it on my blog and FB page. I was so surprised how many people LOVED it! And yes, fresh herbs make a huge difference. Can you have pots of herbs in your kitchen? Been enjoying all your wedding photos on FB! So happy for you! xx
