Personalized Frames using the Floating Image Technique

April 10, 2019 3 Comments

Hi Friends! Have you seen the “Floating Image Technique” yet? If not, you’re in for a treat. If you have seen it, then you already know what a super neat technique this is! Jennifer McGuire recently shared a video of this technique, on her YouTube channel, and my goodness, it seems everyone has jumped on board with it! Myself included! You really need to give this technique a whirl – you’re going to be as addicted to it as I’ve been.

Today marks my 17 year anniversary with Stampin’ Up! and to commemorate this special occasion, I chose to create a personalized frame for my craft room, using the “Floating Image” technique. I had originally planned on the word ‘create’ for my frame, alas, the letter dies for that wouldn’t fit in the size of the frame I was using for my project. So, “Tina” was the next best option! I really LOVE how my frame turned out.

**Please note: in the video at 3:34 I showed a piece of Whisper White card stock that measures 3 3/4 x 5″ when in fact, I used a 5″ x 7″ piece to layer the die cuts on. The measurements will differ depending on the size of the frame that you use.

After I finished making my personalized frame, I made a second one to use up the leftover bits and pieces. The sentiment is from a retired stamp set, which is Stampin’ Up!’s “Statement of the Heart”:

I also used the “Butterfly Gala” bundle on the frame.

I had both frames put up on the wall as soon as they were finished – I am just tickled with how nice they both turned out.

Give this “Floating Image” technique a try – I PROMISE you will have soooo much FUN with it! As for me, I can’t wait to make more cards and projects with this technique and I’ll be sure to share photos of them with you!

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
