“Rise & Shine” Card Tutorial

March 27, 2020 Leave a Comment

Hi Friends! Happy Friday! The card that I’m sharing with you today features the “Rise & Shine” Sale-a-bration stamp set. This set is one of your free Sale-a-bration choices, with a qualifying order, until March 31st (or while supplies last).

This card was quick and easy to make and it’s a great layout to try with other stamps too. I ran my cardstock through my Big Shot with the “Hammered Metal” embossing folder, but you could, of course, use any folder – or skip it altogether.

Measurements:
  • Basic
    Black – 8 ½” x 5 ½” and 3” x 3 ¼”
  • Cherry
    Cobbler: 4” x 5 ¼”
  • Whisper
    White: 4 ½” x 1 ½” and 2 ¾” x 3”
Instructions:

  1. Fold
Basic Black card stock in half to create the card base.
  2. Place
Cherry Cobbler card stock inside Hammered Metal embossing folder and run through Big Shot. Glue to front of the card.
  3. Run
1 ½” x 4 ½” piece of Whisper White card stock through the Big
Shot, also using the Hammered Metal embossing folder. Cut one end with the Triple Banner punch. Set aside.
  4. Swipe
Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend marker across the ribbon. Wrap around Whisper White banner, securing the back. Glue to front of
card and add a knot (or bow) from the dyed ribbon, adhering in place with a Mini Glue Dot.
  5. Stamp
cup with Cherry Cobbler ink onto Whisper White layer. Stamp sentiments with Black Memento. Glue to Basic Black card stock and adhere to the card front.
  6. On
scrap piece of Whisper White card stock, stamp three of the flowers.
Ink with Daffodil Delight, then roll the edges of the stamp in
Cherry Cobbler. If desired, mist lightly with water before stamping onto card stock. Cut and place on card with mini glue dots.
  7. Place
rhinestones on flower centres to finish the card.

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
