Hi Friends! I find Saint Patrick’s Day a bit of challenge when it comes to
creating a card or project so today I did something a wee bit
different. While my heritage is Swedish, English and German – with no
Irish that I’m at least aware of – I do have a traditional family recipe
that has definite Irish origins. It’s called “Boiled Dinner” and it’s
my Grandma Zinck’s recipe and it’s been a family favourite for years.
It’s an easy, simple dish but it’s really delicious. So I decided to
create a hybrid scrapbook page on MDS for my family recipe book and
share it with you for today’s project. I love, love, love MDS (My
Digital Studio) and use it all the time. While not an expert at
scrapbooking on it, it’s still really great to play with and I’m always
pleased with the results.

To create I opened
up a blank scrapbook page in the MDS program, you can use any digital
download template (I used a recipe easel download). Then I added a
photo of Grandma and I, along with the recipe and a few shamrocks.
Using my regular printer, I printed the page onto a piece of 8 1/2″ x
11″ Very Vanilla Card Stock, trimmed it and adhered it to Early Espresso and Old Olive Card Stock. I also used my Scallop Border punched for the bottom trim. The Owl Punch is one of my favourite
punches and it was fun to make a little Owl Leprechaun! I used the Sale-a-Bration “Sweet Sorbet” designer series paper for his little hat and vest – so cute! For the tree I stamped the new Hardwood Stamp onto some scrap card stock and cut to size and just added some branches and leaves from the Bird Builder Punch. I had such a good time making this project and I hope I’ve inspired you to try our MDS software, create some punch art and enjoy my Grandma’s meal sometime soon too!
