Sale-a-bration Party & Designer Series Paper Projects

February 19, 2018 1 Comment

Hi Friends! This past weekend I had a “Sale-a-bration Party” with some lovely ladies and we had such a great time!

Stephanie & Janice

Stephanie, my hostess, had requested we make projects that feature Designer Series Paper. I thought this was a fabulous suggestion and I had so many ideas it was hard to settle on just a few for her party. I demonstrated how to make a treat pouch and a gift bag for the first two projects. The third project was a card using up scrap bits of Designer Series Paper, which is an old technique but so much fun! I created a video a few years ago for this ‘Starburst Technique’ and while the products I used in the video have since retired, you can of course use different Designer Series Paper and stamps. Stampin’ Up! no longer sells the glue sticks that I used in the video either, but the Multipurpose Liquid Glue works great and that’s what we used at Stephanie’s party yesterday.

No two cards were alike and they all turned out beautiful –
everyone had a ton of fun with this technique!

We used the “Eastern Palace” Designer Series Paper for this card, with some of the Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper. The Beautiful Peacock Sale-a-bration stamp set and the new 1 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch were also used on our cards.

For the fourth project at Stephanie’s party, I showed everyone how they can take one 12″ x 12″ piece of Designer Series Paper and cut it to make 12 cards! They loved this! I’ll share this with you, along with the other projects we made, over the next few days.

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…

Love the cards that were made at the party. I think using DP was a good idea. I love all the results. Thanks for sharing your video.
