New Arrivals!

Hi Friends! I’ve got some fantastic cards to share with you over the next few days, created by members of my “Serene Stampers” group!  Last month we had our first ever “Creative Challenge” and it was a hit! How it works is, I send each person who wants to participate an envelope with samples of current product from Stampin’ Up! – everyone gets the same – and then they have to create a card with it.  Every one that plays has their name entered to win all the cards!  This month’s winner was Stacey Galbraith!
The product I featured for October was the lovely birch bark paper in the Thankful Tablescapes Simply Created Kit and a piece of 1″ Stitched Grosgrain Cherry Cobbler Ribbon.

I’ve got to tell ya, the cards that came back to me were amazing! I can’t wait to share them with you over the next couple of days!  I just think the world of the ladies in my “Serene Stampers” group and they are soooo talented!
For today’s post I will start by sharing my card (I had to play too!!!) for the Serene Stampers October Creative Challenge:
To make this card I cut out the birch bark paper from the Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit, as well as a piece of chipboard, with the Labels Collection Framelits and Big Shot.  I adhered the two pieces together with my Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  The Early Espresso Card Base was embossed with the Woodgrain Folder.  I added the stitching onto the birch paper with the Early Espresso Marker.  Next, I stamped the sentiment from the the “Joy to the World” Stamp Set, with Versamark Ink and then used the Heat Tool and Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder.  The leaves were made using my 1 3/4″ Circle Punch with scrap pieces of Pistachio Pudding DSP, which were misted with water in our Stampin’ Spritzer, scrunched and let dry.  Then I sponged on Early Espresso and Garden Green Ink.  For the Rose I used the Blossom Punch (I used five flowers) and Cherry Cobbler card stock, misted with water and scrunched and then glued together. Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter Finished it all off, with the Cherry Cobbler Ribbon tucked underneath.

AvatarI joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
