Hi Friends!  I hope you’re enjoying summer so far. Hubby and I are still trying to get ourselves settled here in Nova Scotia.  Our 100+ year old home needs a lot of work and updating so we’ve been slowly tackling a long to-do list.  Absolutely LOVE our house and property though, so it will all be worth it in the long run.  It’s also full-swing blueberry season so we’ve begun raking our berries.

The blueberries on our acreage are all organic but have been let go over the years, so there’s a lot of grass in amongst the berries which slows down the harvesting process.  Hubby and I enjoyed a walk around our property this morning to survey all the berry plants and we’ve decided we’re going to burn quite a big area this fall so that next year everything will be on a good schedule for next picking season.  We’ve also got a lot of bayberry bushes so I’ve been researching online to see what I can do with them.  And let’s not forget all the apples – all our trees are loaded with fruit! I predict I’ve got a busy canning season coming soon – I’m looking forward to it though. And I’m trying to squeeze in every moment I can to enjoy the summer sunshine!

I’ve also been working hard getting my Stampin’ Up! business off the ground in our new province – I had my first Coffee and a Card Class at the Prissy Pig Cafe and Deli this past week.

My friend Elaine came out and brought three of her friends and we had
just the nicest time stamping our cards!
One lady stamped a bit years ago and the rest had never stamped before – they really enjoyed it!

My next Coffee and a Card
class is this Saturday at 1:30pm – click HERE to RSVP.
I would love for
you to join me.

Today’s “Simple Sentiment Series” features the basics of card cutting and layering.

I know this can be frustrating for new stampers but it’s actually quite
easy and it’s an important thing to know when you want to make a card.

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
