Simply Adorned & Another Tutorial!

January 19, 2011 2 Comments

Hi Everyone!

Here’s another technique for you! I’ve been having so much fun demonstrating techniques in workshops and stamp clubs and I thought I’d share some of these great projects to inspire YOU to create too!

Here’s what I made for my newest insert for my Simply Adorned charm:

For this project I used the small rose from the ‘Happiness Shared‘ stamp set. I just recently purchased this stamp set and I LOVE it!

Using your VersaMark ink pad, stamp an outline image onto Shimmery White card stock. Then emboss it with Whisper White embossing powder.

Once the image has cooled down, mist it with water until it creates puddles in the embossed areas.

Using your Stampin’ Up! Ink Refills, squeeze a drop of the colours you’ll be using onto a palette dish or something porous. I’m just using my Clear Block.

Color the areas by using an Aqua Painter, simply dip the tip into the ink. Like magic, the colors will spread throughout the area, staying within the embossed lines! This is a super cool effect and blending colors is so easy.

I’ve used a bit too much water – so I grabbed a tissue and lifted some of the water off of the paper.

Let the image totally dry before you cut it out. You can also use the Heat Tool if time is of the essence. *wink*

Once dry, you can go back into your image with more color and to add more dimension by blending and highlighting.

As I wanted to have the same insert for both the front and back of my charm, I did two roses at once. The photos don’t do justice as the shimmer from the paper shows through and the colors in the flowers flow in together so nicely!

Using bits and pieces of scrap Newsprint DSP and Crochet Trim, I designed my insert. I also stamped the word ‘love’ from the Tiny Tags stamp set. Next, I sponged the edges with Early Espresso ink and used my Colour Spritzer with the same colour in my marker. I bit of bling with the Rhinestone made it PERFECT!

This is the back of my charm. I am going to make some inserts for Valentines soon, using My Digital Studio – Stampin’ Up!’s AWESOME software! I’ll post pictures once they’re done. I always receive compliments when I wear my Simply Adorned necklace – everyone’s amazed that I made it and that it’s a part of Stampin’ Up!’s product line! That’s the beauty of this company – we have something for EVERYONE!

HAPPY STAMPING!

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
