“Snow Front” Card Tutorial and Kitty Update!

November 25, 2019 Leave a Comment

Hi Friends! I hope you had a nice weekend! Well, this may come as no surprise, but we’ve decided to keep this little kitty! There is no way we can part with it – he has us all under his spell. If you haven’t read my story about this little bundle of love – click here.

Kitty has found his forever home with us, and we finally decided on his name – “Forest”. One, because I found him in the forest. Two, because ‘he was running’ (remember the movie “Forest Gump’?) to me when I called out to him. Forest has already fit in with our family perfectly, including with our other furkids, as you can see from the above photo with Cooper! Forest is unbelievably loving, calm and quiet, cuddly and so sweet. He follows me everywhere. I am so happy I found him!

So onto today’s card! I’m sharing a tutorial with you that features one of my favourite stamp sets, “Snow Front”.  These stamps are so much fun to create with!
Supplies:
  • Stamp
    Sets

    –
    Snow
Front (150483); Itty Bitty Christmas (150513)
  • Card
    Stock
    –
Mossy Meadow (133676); Night of Navy (100867); Shimmery White
    (101910)
  • Stamp
    Pads

    – Night of Navy (14710); Mossy Meadow (147111); Seaside Spray
    (150085); Early Espresso (147114)
  • Misc.
    – Stamping Sponges (141337); Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430);
    Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110756)
Measurements:
  • Mossy
    Meadow: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” scored at 4 ¼”
  • Night
    of Navy: 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Shimmery
    White: 3-3/4” x 5” and 4” x 5-1/4” (inside of card,
    optional)
Instructions:

  1. Fold
the Mossy Meadow cardstock In half to create your base card.
  2. Stamp
the cabin using Early Espresso ink in the middle of the 3-3/4” x
5” piece of Shimmery White cardstock.
  3. Stamp
the trees to the right of the cabin using Mossy Meadow ink. Stamp
the trees again to the left of cabin using the same stamp & ink.
Use the “narrow hill” stamp just below the trees to fill in the
    tree line.
  4. Using
Early Espresso ink, stamp the sentiment just below right trees.
  5. Cut
one of the Sponge in half, then in half again so that you have a
quarter of a sponge. Using Seaside Spray ink, carefully sponge all
the way down to the tree line, being careful to not get any inside
    on the cabin roof.
  6. Using
Night of Navy ink and a new quarter sponge, add Night of Navy ink in
small swirls, starting at the top and working down to the bottom.
    Don’t add Night of Navy ink all the way down to the tree line;
leaving space around the cabin/trees so that only the Seaside Spray
    ink shows. Repeat as needed.
  7. Adhere
to the Night of Navy mat and then adhere to base card using Stampin’
    Dimensionals.
I’ve got some videos that I’m currently working on for you and will be sharing them with you this week!

Enjoy the day & HAPPY STAMPING!

AvatarI joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
