Star of Light Eclipse Card Tutorial

November 9, 2017 1 Comment

Supplies:

  • Star
    of Light
    (142110)
  • Stamp
    Pads:
    Night
    of Navy (126970)
  • Paper:
Whisper White (100730), Night of Navy (126970)
  • Misc.:
    Starlight
Thinlits Dies (141840), Basic Rhinestone Jewels (144220), SNAIL
    Adhesive (104332), Dimensionals (104430), Big Shot (143263)

Measurements:

  • Whisper
    White: Card Base 5 ½” x 8 ½”, Layer 3 ¾” x 5”
  • Night
    of Navy Layer 4” x 5 ¼”, 2 scraps to cut out
    additional star layers

Instructions:

  1. Fold
card base in half. Adhere the Night of Navy layer.
  2. Ink up
the Star of Wonder stamp in Night of Navy ink and stamp it in the
lower right corner of the top white layer.
  3. Lay the
top white layer (3 ¾” x 5”) in the Big Shot with the star die
in the center. Cut out the star.
  4. Cut two
additional stars out of Night of Navy paper scraps.
  5. Place
the cut out white star back in the negative space that it came from
    on the 3 ¾” x 5” layer.
  6. Ink up
the swirl of stars stamp image in Night of Navy. Stamp it on the 3
¾” x 5” layer crossing over the star die cut and layer as
    shown.
  7. Remove
    the star die cut.
  8. Adhere
the white layer with the negative star space to the Night of Navy
    layer.
  9. Adhere
the two cut out navy stars to the back of the white star. This will
give the star die cut a dark edge that will make it stand out from
    the background layer.
  10. Place 3
Dimensionals on the back of the layered star.
  11. Adhere
the layered star back in the negative space of the 3 ¾” x 5”
    white stamped layer.

  1. Stamp
the inside of the card as shown above (or use a greeting of your
choice) in Night of Navy ink.
  2. Give
this card to a special friend or make many of them and give them to
all of your family and friends this Christmas season.

AvatarI joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…

This technique is awesome. You did a very beautiful job with it. The star is great to use for this technique. Dressing up the inside of a card is a special talent which I suck at. Yours is beautiful.
