Starburst Technique Christmas Card

October 21, 2013 Leave a Comment

Hi Friends!  I spent this past weekend in a lovely town called Grand Falls, in mid-western New Brunswick, to have a workshop with “Association for Community Living“.  We had a ball!  I demonstrated from 2pm and didn’t stop until after 9pm (of course by then we had enjoyed a potluck dinner and served the most delicious Chocolate Raspberry Port).  I adore the ladies that work at ACL and I really think the world of them for all they do with their ACL participants.

I recently learned how to do a a fun ‘Starburst’ technique, which was featured in “Stampin’ Success” – a bi-monthly magazine for Stampin’ Up! demonstrators, and I couldn’t wait to try it.  This is the card I came up with, for the make and take project and all the gals at ACL just LOVED it:

Cute hey?  This stamp set is just darling and I’m having so much fun playing with it!
Snow Day Stamp Set

Here’s my video tutorial:

Supplies Used:
Snow Day Stamp Set
Winter  Frost Designer Series Paper Stack
Island Indigo Card Stock
Island Indigo Marker
Island Indigo Ink Pad
Bermuda Bay Card Stock
Whisper White Card Stock
Soft Sky Ink Pad
Pumpkin Pie Ink Pad
Black Stazon Ink Pad
Anywhere Glue Stick
Silver Glimmer Paper
Stampin’ Trimmer
Stampin’ Dimesionals
Stamping Sponge
Dazzling Diamonds Glitter
Two-Way Glue Pen
1 3/4″ Scallop Circle Punch
1 3/8″ Circle Punch

For this card I also used solid coloured card stock for the ‘starburst’, that had been run through the Big Shot with various embossing folders.

This morning I created this card, using scraps on my desk, from the “Merry Little Christmas” Simply Created Kit and the “Tag It” stamp set ($3 from this set is donated to Ronald McDonald House).

On Wednesday I’ll be posting a video of another project that I demonstrated this past weekend, using the “Thankful Tablescape” kit and even I was rather impressed with it! *grin*  I had soooo much fun creating this project and I look forward to sharing it with you! Until then….

HAPPY STAMPING!

AvatarI joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
