Hi Friends! You may have noticed that I have been ‘missing in action’ a bit this past week and haven’t been blogging as I normally do (generally Monday through Friday). That’s because I’ve been enjoying summer and taking advantage of the sunshine and our all too short season. So if I miss a day or two with posts, don’t worry, I’m fine – just enjoying LIFE!
Last week my honey and I took a mini-vacation! We rented a log house on a beach in Ecomomy, NS, with his sister and BIL and another couple of friends. Economy is about an hour and a half from where we live and neither of us had been to that part of the province before. The weather was sensational and so were the views. We had the best time with good friends and good food and some fishing and lots of fun! I took lots of photos, too many to share here, but I wanted to show a few to you:
Cooper and Rosey were pretty happy that they were going with us too!
This log home and property was gorgeous. Inside is decorated with antiques and charm throughout the house and everything we needed to feel at home!
My sweetheart and I
We enjoyed lots of walks on the beach.
My two VERY happy (and tired) hounds!
My BF’s sister and I, getting ready to dig for clams!
Got a big bucket full! Look at that mud! The beach is full of red clay!
We ate VERY well during our little get-away! I brought a seafood lasagne and homemade dinner rolls and the freshly steamed clams were a perfect addition to our meal!
Is there anything better than enjoying a campfire next to the ocean, with the one you love, your fur-babies, good friends and family? I think not. I was a VERY happy girl.
The tides in this area are CRAZY – they go in and out SO far and SO fast (Bay of Fundy), I’ve never seen anything like it. We couldn’t resist taking a photo of these boats waiting for the tide to pick them up!
A lighthouse, overlooking Five Islands.
We returned from our trip a few days ago and since then I’ve been busy with work, my garden and catching up things around the house. Tomorrow I need to pick all the berries off my black currant bushes and start making jam.
Soon I’ll be moving onto pickling my beets, as they are getting BIG in the garden! I sure love all the fresh veggies – nothing better than picking something for supper. In fact, tonight I’ll be steaming some Swiss Chard picked today, to serve alongside BBQ pork chops. Isn’t summer just the BEST?!
On top of all this, I’ve been busy sending out the upcoming mini catalogue (which begins Aug 4) to my customers and of course, I wanted to add hand-stamped cards inside the packets. I used the new “Pointsettia Place Suite” for my cards, which is truly a gorgeous suite of products – here are some of the cards I made:
I thought it would be fun to show you a photo of me mailing out the catalogues when I went to the post office today…
Envelopes are stamped too:
One more big batch of catalogues to mail out and I’ll be done. If you haven’t ordered with me before (or in the past year) and would like a catalogue, let me know and I’ll be happy to send one to you. Just pop me an email at serenestamper@gmail.com
On that note, my friends, I need to get back to editing my next video, as I’m past due on a new demonstration to share! This time it’s a fun technique using our blocks and inks AND two new stamp sets from the mini catalogue. I’ll have it posted on my blog and YouTube channel for you tomorrow.
Enjoy the day & HAPPY STAMPING!
