Top Ten Retiring Items from Stampin’ Up! – Number Seven

May 20, 2013 Leave a Comment

Here are my Top Ten Retiring Items from Stampin’ Up! so far (in no particular order):

#1. Countryside Stamp Set
#2. Flower Folds Bigz Die
#3. Ornament Punch
#4. Scallop Envelope Die
#5 – Just Believe Stamp Set
#6. Perfectly Preserved Wood-Mount Stamp Set
and coordinating Cannery Framelits

The next item on my Top Ten Retiring list is….
#7. Tabletop Paper Cutter

I love the Tabletop Paper Cutter because I can cut several layers at once and
it is very accurate. The safety guard is great because it helps holds on to small pieces and
it is easily portable. It has everything that I want in a paper cutter. If you are a serious crafter or someone who likes to mass produce cards, you NEED to have this papercutter.  It’s hard core.  I couldn’t live without it.  Well, technically, I could.  But from a crafting point of view, I couldn’t.  I use this cutter more than any other cutter and it’s worth every penny. While I also love our new Stampin’ Trimmer too,  it’s the Tabletop Paper Cutter I use when I need to make more than one card or project at a time.  I can cut up to five pieces of Stampin’ Up! card stock at once.  If it’s Designer Series Paper, I can cut six pieces at once. This is a massive time saver when I need to mass produce cards (Christmas, invitations, classes, etc). And the edges are always crisp and clean – never ragged.  Here’s a wonderful video, created by Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, Anne Beale, that shows you how this awesome tool works:

On a side note, I was asked to share a photo of the anniversary card I made for my hubby last week.  I was telling some friends that I cut hearts on my Big Shot machine using birch bark and my Heart Framelits.  I don’t think they believed me! Yes, you really CAN use birch bark with your Big Shot!  LOL  Because it was our 5th anniversary, which is symbolised with wood, I used the bark for my hearts (the little one was raised on a stampin’ dimensional), the Early Espresso card stock was embossed with the wood grain embossing folder and I used our awesome Natural Designer wood-like buttons.  I didn’t have the anniversary stamp so I used MDS to print it out.  The “I” and the “U” are pieces of the new ‘This and That Epic’ Designer Series Paper and our Typeset Alphabet dies. I was really pleased with out my card turned out!

AvatarI joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
