Hi Friends! It’s been a while since I jumped on board with my friends in our “Around the World on Wednesday” Blog Hop! I really love this group, which is organized by my amazing friend Angie McKenzie. Angie always comes up with the most incredible ideas and themes for our blog hops and the demonstrators in our group rise up to the challenges in spades! Be sure to click on the links at the end of this post to see all of this month’s creations, which are based on today’s fun sketch:
I can’t recall the last time I used a sketch to make a card, and I’d forgotten how much FUN it is! We had the option of using the card design with or without a knot or a bow. Of course, I couldn’t resist adding a bit of linen and gold twine!
I tweaked the design just a smidgen (truth be told, I forgot to add the little strip of paper across the card), but the layout is still pretty much the same sketch. I also added a little pine bough that I stamped and fussy cut for a bit more embellishment.
I wanted the sentiment to be subtle, with the gold tone-on-tone, allowing the design of the card to take center stage. The pattern on the paper from our “One Horse Open Sleigh” pack transports you to a peaceful, snowy forest. I think I’ve captured that serene vibe and infused it into my card.
The inside of my card is pretty simple: I just glued a strip from the same Designer Series Paper that I used on the front of the card, added a snowflake and a rhinestone, and stamped the sentiment with Misty Moonlight.
Product ListThanks so much for stopping by my blog and checking out my card. I hope you enjoyed it! My amazing “AWOW” friends have also made some stunning cards using the same sketch. Trust me, you don’t want to miss out on seeing their creativity in action. Head over to their blogs too and be prepared to be inspired!
